I’d Forgotten How Good This Is
I bought the vinyl version round about when it came out, maybe 1977 0r ’78, and am not sure where it disappeared to. But I have finally bought it again, this time on CD, and what a classic album it is. The recording itself is great, the man had a wonderful band around him (not least Johnny Winters), and they captured a band enjoying themselves and creating a great atmosphere. Some brilliant singing, great soloing, and a big, full, dirty sound. The harmonica player and rhythm section are sensational, too. Recommended.

A superb blues album
A superb blues album by an icon of the genre at his best with help from some terrific musicians like Johnny Winter on guitar and James Cotton roaring away on harmonica. I'd give this album 6 stars if I could.

Cd poor sound quality
3 stars only for the cd, sound quality is poor, even on my linn amps almost mono , vinyl is superb quality and sound. Bought for convenience, this album deserves a remastered version. Buy the vinyl instead and you will appreciate great blues. Muddy Waters and Johnny winter, great collaboration. Vinyl album 10 stars.

Wow, what a record
Ball-out blues and no mistake. A great sounding album that you can hear the buzz that Muddy's band is having from making it.

One of the best late recordings
One of the best late recordings. I saw him in London around the same time, where he was the opening act in a mixed bill. We came, we saw Muddy, we stayed for Sonny Rollins, then left.
