a great read! suspenseful even when the main character didn’t do what you wanted.
I can’t believe I couldn’t remember this book but it was as good the second time as the first time! Characters very believable. Great storyline. The reader feels the frustration of the characters.

Good but not Great
Iles knows how to keep the reader turning the page and that skill was in full evidence in 24 Hours.Thoughts of "What next?" kept me going. Unfortunately, though, many of the plot developments were predictable, either through lack of the typical Iles creativity or because of too-heavy foreshadowing. Finally, near the end, I did get a surprise--but not a good one. It was one of those times when the lead characters of a novel become so focused on their own goals that they risk many others trying to save their own butts and thus become 'people' I cannot really admire. In the case of Will and Karen, there wasn't much admiration to lose. They weren't among the author's most likable characters in the first place and so, while my mind was engaged, I couldn't get emotionally swept up in this story. The ending was a little rushed and not wholly satisfying. There were also some nagging little details that might have been copyediting changes versus sloppiness on the part of Iles but, however they came to be, they annoyed me. A Disney Princess doll referred to over and over as a 'Barbie'... a 2-liter soda that later seems to have morphed into a can... a package of birth-control pills in the medicine chest of a woman whose motherhood had previously been blamed on an inability to tolerate those pills. If this book had been written by an unknown, I perhaps would not have felt the disappointment I did after finishing this book. But this is Greg Iles and I've come to expect better of Iles.

Disappointed at the ending
Too many loose ends. It's like author got tired of it and just wanted to be done. Usually I have enjoyed his books but this one was a disappointment because the plot was well thought out.

Don’t want to put them down.
Greg Iles books are absolutely awesome. I have read the Penn Cage series twice (all of them). Will probably read them again. Recommend them highly!!!

Another Home Run
When I finished reading "24 Hours," I tipped off a friend in Mississippi. This Greg Iles book is set in that state and my friend was already well aware of this author. He had already read this book and most of Iles' other efforts. I've read quite a few of them, too, and need to finish the list. If Greg Iles wrote it, it definitely is worth your time and money.

Excellent.
A fast paced and gripping plot makes it a page turner which is hard to put down once you start reading it. I will recommend this book to the fans of the author and the mystery and thriller lovers.
