My strap broke several weeks ago on my 2008 Jeep JK, and I thought I would just live with it, but I kept letting the door go and have it flop too far to pull it closed without getting out. When I saw this it looked like it might be something that would end all of that and be simple to install.Well, it was the proper solution, but and installation was very simple, but uninstalling the old one was a job and a half. I wonder why Jeep didn't make them like this in the first place, this one would easily come off with removing a screw, but the OEM one is physically attached underneath the plastic.In the end, (after watching a video), the old one took about 15 minutes to remove for the first one and about 5 minutes for the second one. The installation of these replacements was a breeze, they zip open and closed (the OEM ones don't, you have to cut the fabric), and they fit perfectly over the metal parts that hold them when you open the door.I love that I can open my door and get in now without needing to get back out to pull the door closed.Such a simple fix and the cost is almost trivial. I think even if you don't need one now, you will down the line.

Love the zipper, works very well but mine broke within a couple weeks. It's just so windy where we are and I don't think these were sturdy enough for living in a cornfield. The wind got hold of the drivers side door and that was it. Broken. Passenger side is still holding strong, though.

Anyone who has an older Jeep Wrangler JK will eventually need or want these straps. It feels weird cutting open the OEM straps so you can install these, but they work great. Be very careful not to damage the wires inside the strap when you are removing the original strap. The new straps will zip around the wires and install easily.
