Got to fill up yourself and lid just rests on top, Not secure in anyway, if knocked by child all fluid will go onto the electrics. Avoid

Thought this would be a bit more impressive than it was but grand daughter loved it.

This jellyfish light was a huge disappointment. We bought it for our 5 year old, but after ages of faffing around with fairy liquid to get the jellyfish to move up and down, after a couple of days one of the jellyfish sank and despite pulling it out and putting it in again, they both continue to just either float or sink. It’s rubbish and certainly not worth the money! I never write reviews but didn’t want another parent buying it and being left with a disappointed child.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had a similar item before but it was much smaller and battery operated, this item is far more substantial and mains operated. It arrives boxed although my box was a little battered, which isn’t great if you were wanting this as a gift. When taking the lamp out of the box, I noticed what seemed like ripped cardboard sandwiched between the bottom base and glass, which looks a bit tatty but only if you really scrutinise (see my pic of the base) other than that, this lamp is lovely. It comes with simple to follow instructions and a remote. The octopuses do take a little time to start moving around the lamp as the first 20mins or so, they just float at the top of the water, but I found that if I add another drop of liquid soap, they start to move more freely. Once they’re on the move, the lamp is so calming to watch. The remote is handy if you want differing colours, flash, fade, strobe or smooth, or you want to darken or lighten the background, or you can just choose 1 of 15 static colours/hues. The remote also has an on and off button which is convenient, however, there is no sleep timer which is a shame as this lamp is most attractive at night and would be so relaxing in a bedroom to watch as you fall asleep…. Nevertheless, despite the couple of negatives, overall, this is a gorgeous quirky lamp which works well and sets a peaceful ambience. I love it!

Didn't know what to expect when I ordered this Jellyfish Light. As it happens there're a great fun item to sit on your desk/cupboard or light up a dark corner.A tall plastic tube containing a pump circulates water around inside the tank that holds two silicone Jellyfish.LED's light up at the base in an array of colours which you can set to be static or ever changing with the supplied remote.Now a few words of advice: The tank contains quite a bit of water and it's fairly heavy, therefore probably not the kind of object to place in a small childs room.Then there's the action of the Jellyfish themselves. When you first put them into the water they'll just float to the top and stay there, That's because their not as heavy as the water that surrounds them so they bob to the surface like a float.You have to alter the buoyancy by putting washing-up liquid in the water, it tells you to do that in the instructions but suggests a drop or two. That's not enough to make any difference, it will take a squirt or two...maybe more to get those fish to swim around, you have to experiment until you get it right.That does make the water a little cloudy but then it's more realistic like that.Another tip: If you have a small circular mirror, preferably a plastic kid's type then try gluing it to the inside of the black lid. It will reflect light from the LED's back onto the Fish and make them a bit brighter. Maybe the manufacturers should have done that, it does make a difference.I like this Jellyfish Aquarium a lot, powered by USB it doesn't get hot and it works silently.Great fun and no clearing out of the tank....Yay !

I ordered the AONAT Jellyfish Lava Lamp for my 4.5 year old son.He had shown interest in a slightly different one at the local shops and we've been visiting a lot of aquariums recently.Until recently, he wasn't afraid of the dark or of his bedroom either. The last few weeks he refuses to sleep in his own bed.He has a night light which is also remote control operated and with touch control. This is very effective and has been used for 2-3 years.I wanted a follow on from that and the Jellyfish Lava Lamp was the perfect choice.I've ordered it for Christmas 2023, so only tested it for a few minutes at a time.The product arrived well packaged and in immaculate condition.The lamp is a very good quality plastic casing and main housing.The remote control is very handy and enables you to select a multitude of colours for the display.Once plugged, the Jellyfish pieces gently float around the lamp as if they're real.It has a very soothing and calming effect, and I imagine it would be great for children (or adults) with ADHD, autism and neurodiverse conditions.Very pleased with the product and great value.
