It's like Harry Potter for younger children
These stories are wonderful and really capture the imagination of children around 5-6 years old.Just two things to mention:The age level for these books is 9 & up, but I think they really appeal to younger readers. Certainly an independent reader would have to be reading at a 3rd grade level or above to handle the text. However, the stories are ideal for bedtime or shared family reading. Also, this book is a continuation of the Wishing Chair stories. I would recommended buying the Wishing Chair Collection since you will also get the early stories where the brother and sister acquire the chair and meet their adventurous friend Chinky the Pixie.

A Blyton Classic
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter, we have read quite a few other Enid Blyton books the last few months, starting with the Faraway Tree selection which went down a storm. The Wishing Chair sequence has been thoroughly enjoyed, (perhaps not quite so much as the Faraway Tree as those characters really made an impact). You always know you are on to a winner when you walk into the bedroom to find your little one reading to her teddies etc which is what happened in this case on more than one occasion.

This is a great series from Enid Blyton and all stories are short to be read in few minutes. Our daughter got introduced to the Wishing-Chair stories and likes the adventures.

Pure Lovliness
I cannot enthuse over Enid Blyton enough. I grew up loving her stories, and now my son has them as part of his childhood too. I cannot imagine growing up not knowing the Faraway Tree or the Wishing Chair. To discover MORE wishing chair stories was bliss, as i'm sure I don't recall them from my younger days.Perfect!
