My daughter is an avid 'picture taker' and working on getting into photography classes or courses. We've been piecemealing a good set up for her work, caught this one on sale for her, got it for a song - as far as I'm concerned. It's a very nice unit, sturdy as can be, all the bells and whistles, lightweight, super easy to set up-use-tear down in process. The case will prevent the little hands form messing with it and losing crucial parts - kids be being kids! The height makes this one all the much better, she's rocking the heck out of it already.

Bought this tripod for my laser level to do construction work. Works pretty well and is fairly easy to set up. Very lightweight and easy to transport. Quality is average but get the job done. Only issue is with it being top heave and tends to fall over sometimes thus the 4 stars. Good product.

The last time I bought a Tripod was in 1995. It was all metal construction and the handle controlled everything and was extremely fluid and smooth. With no other experience but that to compare it to I was disappointed. There are lots of plastic bits on this and it feels much lighter and not as solid and sturdy. Also the swivel function has its own knob which is barely adequate. I think this company meant well and wanted to build the best tripod they could for the price point. I dont think ur gonna find better unless you want to spend more. My guess is they took a really nice tripod and said how can we make this very similar but at a quarter the price? The answer seems to be they replaced everything but the legs with plastic. Now I'm not knocking this tripod at all for the price, I don't think you're going to find much better for what your paying. It really is a good tripod with lots of nice little functions and quirks but personally I wish I would have spent more money and got something more robust and higher end and built to last much longer. This is something I would give my 16 year old that decided on a whim she wanted to try photography. Lots of nice little features and decent quality without breaking the bank.
