Oddly good without the strap
We go with just the sock for sports practice and the wraps just don't seem to fit in shoes well and mess up your feel between the shoe and foot (potential friction and problems). So the strap is not really useful for us but the sock holds the foot/ankle in place, helps blood flow and is worthwhile for foot/ankle ailments. Maybe with severe injury the strap may help you do daily activities. The sock is a 5 star, the awkward strap is a 2 star.

Glad I bought this
I JUST put it on a few hours ago and I'm happy to say, I can feel the relief. I've got achilles tendonitis just starting and the pain was, well, a pain. I tried vet wrap. I tried a regular wrap. I tried one of those compression socks that don't have a heel and the toes are cut out... to no avail. Didn't help. At all. On the contrary, after only a few minutes, I could feel the dull pain again and it only got worse. So, I searched and found the reviews here to be mostly good, and the price wasn't bad, so I thought, what the heck?PROS:I really like the compression sock and the strap combo. Think that's a better idea. Why? Because you control how much compression you want and the sock keeps the strap from digging into your skin. Nice!Compression seems very good. Supportive. And easy to adjust. The stitching was fine too (I see some other reviews claim the stitching to have fallen apart, maybe they got a bad batch?).It's comfortable to wear.CONS:The color.Come on. Can't we get brighter colors? Only reason is, it's hard to decipher the strap from the sock, and you want to be sure to attach the strap to itself and not the sock.___I've got wide flat feet and with that stupid achilles tendon being a butthead, well, I was having a suckfest of a week.I'd recommend these. They come in pairs, which is really nice. Because now I've got a spare. And for $13. What the heck?UPDATE:I won't downgrade the 5 stars because it did work initially, and I think if you have a MINOR ache or pain, this can work fine. But my pain worsened and just stayed, and I had to go with a stronger brace (Bioskin's $70+ brace) which has worked wonders continuously. That and STRETCHING. That's a huge plus!

Works pretty good
Definitely helped support my ankles. The drawback is keeping the velcro off the sock itself. It is difficult to remove when it gets stuck onto the sock and not the band.

Seems ok
Instructions just showed pictures so I went on YouTube to find a video so that helped figuring out how to put straps on. It fits good on its own. Probably too tight to wear in shoes. Good for the price

Not what I expected
The straps have the velcro on the same side so I am u able to wrap the straps properly, instructions are difficult to see as they are dark & only photos.
