The only review you need to read
Like many of you, I read through a ton of reviews and gave myself a mini education before buying a set of sheets. I never write reviews, but wanted to help out others that are out there searching like I did. I poured through info on thread counts "true thread counts" different weaves, fit, etc. I have to say a week into owning this set that I am quite happy! The color is exactly what i was expecting for the charcoal grey...the picture was accurate. They have a great weight to them and have a terrific quality feel. they arent "scratchy" like some of the reviews i read. They have a nice cool feel as you get into bed, breathe well, dont bunch up, the fitted sheet stays in place and has nice deep pockets. Egyptian cotton only softens with washes (dont use fabric softener!) but they are already quite nice after the initial wash out of the box. they have the official Egyptian cotton logo tag and also state 100% egyptian cotton. they are a sateen weave...dont mix that up with "satin" which is a completely different thing/material. they do have a slight "sheen" to them aka a "shininess" but it isnt anything that is over the top or looks silly or cheap, just a nice quality weave. The pillow cases fit my pillows just fine, and they are on the fluffier side. This is a bit long winded, but i wanted to be sure to give the info that i was looking for and learned about. If you're apprehensive at all...don't be. the price is great, dont let that scare you into thinking its too good to be true. I highly reccomend this set and am very happy with the purchase.

Don't let the low reviews scare you
These are great sheets at a value. However, these will only be great sheets for you if you understand the material and how to launder them. If you have never owned Egyptian cotton sheets, do not let the 1 star reviews scare you off. They have never owned them either, and have never been told how to properly care for them.Egyptian cotton sheets start out rough. Google it - this is the norm. They soften with each wash, but there is a specific way to launder them. First and foremost (as with anything), wash them according to the tag. To prevent shrinkage, maintain color, and extend their durability, wash cold on a gentle cycle, with gentle detergents. You don't even need to use the normal amount of detergent, either. Follow the instructions of your washing machine on your top or side loader (i.e fill the top loader with water first). And don't use fabric softener. If you don't want to see your sheets ripping up or have their seams busting or unraveling, wash your sheets separately from other garments so there is plenty of room. And don't wrap your sheets around the agitator. Overstuffing your machine or circling sheets around the agitator tends to beat them up and cause the issues of sheets (and other clothing) falling apart.Don't leave them sitting in the washing machine when done. This increases wrinkles. And of course there will be some wrinkling - it's cotton. Wrinkle-free sheets have formaldehyde added to them, so best of luck if that's what you want. Dry on the lowest heat setting. Heat shrinks cotton, and adds wrinkles. It also reduces the life of the sheets. If you want to try to hasten the softness of the sheets, you can use dryer balls or clean tennis balls in the dryer. And don't over-dry them. They actually are best taken out when barely damp.If you know what you're getting and know how to take care of them, you will really like these sheets. I think the main problems with the low reviews are that people aren't really taught how to launder their clothes anymore, and that is not the fault of the manufacturer. When you invest money in clothing, bedding, etc., it's always a good idea to put some effort into taking care of them properly.

Amazing sheets for the price!
So my wife is pretty picky about sheets, so I bought these after reading some of the reviews. I could tell immediately upon receipt of them that they were very thick based upon the weight of the package. I washed them and put them on the bed, the fitted sheet was nice and deep and had strong elastic, which I like because I usually pull the sheet off the mattress when I move in bed. That has not happened with these sheets. The sheets are dense, heavy, and soft. They remind me of the sheets at a high end hotel. I could not be happier with them! My wife even commented the next day when she returned home from work about how well she slept with the new sheets and that she couldn't wait to use them again! I'll be ordering a second set for our bed and another set for the guest bedroom.

Feels like sleeping on combination of a tarp and fine grit sandpaper. Scratchy and uncomfortable
My first impression upon taking them out of the package was how incredibly stiff they were. I figured after a wash or two they'd soften up and actually be "soft" as some of the reviews claim.I had no such luck. I washed them in cold water as instructed with my normal laundry detergent and dried them on low. They came out of the dryer stiff. I tried it again with some fabric softener, and I noticed no difference. I washed a third time with some Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, detergent, and fabric softener. Still stiff and scratchy. The item description even says they're soft, and there's absolutely nothing soft about them. There's also no way the fitted sheet would fit an 18" mattress as the package claims. It barely fits on my 12" mattress. Not nearly as generous as other sheets I've had that only claim to fit a 15" mattress. I think after another washing they won't fit at all. This is unacceptable for sheets at this price point. It also comes in generic packaging with no name brand which doesn't make me confident that these are genuine Egyptian cotton. This is my first "Egyptian cotton" sheet set and I'm not impressed. I honestly have no idea why this product has so many positive reviews unless they're getting random sheets from different manufacturers and sticking them in the same packaging. The only good thing I can say about these is I like the color. Other than that I don't think I'll be able to use them.

Be careful which size you order
The sheets feel and look beautiful. They arrived and I unpackaged them, put them in the washing machine to wash before using them. When I ironed them I realised how large the pillowcase were - bolster size and the fitted bottom sheet is beautifully made but is almost superking size. As I washed them without checking I appreciate there is no redress. The quality is amazing, just confused on the sizing.

False Advertising
These arrived in packaging with no label, sheets themselves have dodgy labelling attached. These sheets feel like 100% polyester, they are not Chateau Home Collection.

Thread count does NOT mean quality
If you are looking for a set of high quality luxury linens, keep looking. These are NOT them.I bought these sheets because I was impressed by the high thread count, and the reasonable price. But then I learned that high thread count does not necessarily mean high quality, and the low price of these sheets is more of an indicator of what you're getting. In fact, these are very low quality sheets. And the proof of this can be seen in the attached screenshots, which shows the pilling (little balls) that has formed on the sheets, after just a couple weeks of use. These pills were not caused by mistreatment, because I hadn't even washed the sheets yet. They were caused by a breakdown of the fibers as a result of poor manufacturing and low quality cotton.Do yourself a favor and avoid these disappointing sheets.

Cotton shrinks
I was alarmed by the shrinkage in these sheets after washing and drying. I paid top dollar for the sheets and I did notThink this would happen like it does for cheaper sheets. The material should be pre-shrunk before hand.

Poor Quality
Very low quality for price. Could have purchased a higher quality product from a discount store. Washed them 3 times and the started to ball up. Quite thin as well.
