My daughter received this for Christmas this year, and we are all obsessed. The instructions are very clear and well-written. The quality of the products inside are exactly as anticipated. The balance of science experiments, “magic tricks”, and simple geology education is just enough to maintain her interest and excitement each day, so there is great variety. The advent calendar and directions is well-designed. The box and size of materials is also sufficient. The box itself is fairly large, but the activities are easily done in the evening.

We’re 4 days into this and the whole family is loving it! My 8 year old thinks it’s the coolest thing. The experiments are easy so he needs little help from us but have all been really fun for all of us to see so far. We paired this with a family candy around the world in 24 days advent calendar and are having the most fun December this year!

This advent calendar is amazing! I am very impressed. We have only opened two of the slots, but the first experiment was great! And, it gave plenty of product so we could actually do the experiment several times over, which we did of course. The guide is very nice too and even the cardboard is nice and sturdy and well made. Honestly, I'm shocked at the price. I feel like this is worth $50 for sure. But, I snagged it at $34. But....I certainly would pay more because it is so great! Can't wait to do the rest!

The rocks are bigger than I thought and bright and beautiful. My grandchildren love them and the little carrying bag and jewelry. I gave it to them as an advent calendar from Halloween to Thanksgiving. The only flaw is the difficulty in opening one cardboard window without ripping into the next one. Also, so many of the stones are a little larger than can fit into the jewelry pieces they provide. Overall, though, it's a great gift. I gave it to three families with kids ages: 3 1/2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 13. Only the 13 year old didn't get excited.

My 13 year old son has been opening for the past 3 days and the experiments and crystals have all been fun and high quality. I can’t wait to see what else he opens.
