GUILTY PLEASURE (STEELE FAMILY Book 13)

Another 5-star book. This is my first time writing a review.I have been a fan of Brenda Jackson for a long time now and this was the story that I was waiting to read. I am the biggest fan of the Steele Series because that series was the series that introduced me to B.J. OMG, she did not let me down either. There were parts that had me laughing but the story as a whole was awesome. I will re-read this one like the rest.

I was a bit disappointed. I found it to be long winded and repetitive. His reasoning for repeatedly hurting her while understandable, should have waned after 18 years. I got bored, but was determined to finish the book. After persevering, it ended with him getting off too easily. She should have let him sweat a bit.

First off, let me say... I love Brenda Jackson. If she has written 100 books I've read at least 80 of them. Because I have read so many of her books, I know she is capable. More than capable. Normally I have nothing but praise for her work but this book was disappointing.Maybe its because this book came on the heels of outstanding Granger series and it's spin off, The Protector series. Maybe its the fact that the books title and cover art are sexy and mysterious and the story is anything but. More than likely my disappointment is due to storyline lacking original thought.Dee is in love with her best friend's much older brother (sigh). She plots, plans and seduces him... Twice! Both times, Cohen rebuffs her immediately after. He feels he can't love her the way she deserves because he was hurt in the past. At some point they agree to a vacation fling with no strings attached.I'm sorry but this storyline has been recycled a million times and we know how it ends. To make matters worse, I didn't care for either Dee or Cohen. She had no dignity whatsoever and he was a jerk.I rated this book 3 stars out of respect for the author.

None of the guilt but all the pleasure. To me this story is a real account as to what happens in the interaction between two people, one who loves unconditionally and the other who drags their emotions or hold tight to his feelings/heart. I thought Mrs. Jackson wrote a believable story that’s well worth the read. Dee was determined to make Cohen her man no matter what. She gave him something in the beginning that she hoped would let him know that she wanted him in her life. He on the other hand, tried to resist Dee’s temptation and sexual escapades, but felt short. Give someone an ultimatum and see what happens, they either commit or fly. Eventually they both get what they want and all if good in love and lust. I will say, Cohen needed to man up quicker than he did. Read this story to see what I mean. I will say again, it’s good the read.

I was sure that I had read all of the books by one of my favorite romance novelists but to my surprise found I had not read Cohen and Dee's story. What a great story it is too. I wondered when I read A Steele For Christmas if Stacy's best friend would every get Stacy's brother to notice her and possibly my return her love. I am happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to all serious romance novel readers. Now that I have read this warm loving story, I look forward to reading more stories involving the Steele clan and their many friends. Great story Mrs. Jackson, great story.

Mrs. Jackson never disappoints! "Guilty Pleasure" is awesome and well worth the wait. The characters, storyline and the chemistry was on point. The tension between Dee and Cohen was explosive. Thank you for their back story and reuniting us with the Steeles!! 1click-it. You'll love it!💕👏

Brenda Jackson has done it again. Great read, couldn't put it down. Loved the characters and glad to catch up on some old characters. Looking forward to more books by Ms Jackson. She is my favorite author .
