Choosing a desk protector for both my son and daughter was driving me crazy. I wanted a surface they could write on, durability and affordability. My other choices were $50 and up, which was a ridiculous price to pay for a desk accessory. I first bought this in pink for my daughter, liked it enough to order in black for my son. Both kids and I are happy with it.

Update after owning for 8 mos: Thick, somewhat soft mat for desktop. Both sides are exactly alike. Too soft for ballpoint pen writing on a single sheet of paper -- it's easy to perforate the paper if you use much pressure. After 6 or 7 months, I noticed several micro tears of the PU leather around the edges. Anything that has rubbed on the edges of this mat hasn't been abrasive so somewhat concerned how the mat will last over the next year.

This is a very nice mat for the price. Its is saving my wooden desk from the oils in my hands, and from being worn away by my mouse, which was my initial concern.You can use either side, they're exactly the same. If one side ever gets stained, nicked, or damaged, you can just flip the mat over.

This is the perfect blotter/mouse pad!!! I got one for myself and daughter, who is an aspiring writer/author. I plan on getting one for my son in the future for his desk too!!! Worth it at any price!!!!

Love this item! I use it at my desk in my home office. Makes using my mouse so much easier and is clean and durable. Easy to wipe off.

Great product. Nice size and stays in place, no slippage. I try to move it with a little pressure and it doesn't budge. The surface is just right for padding , not too hard and not too soft. Perfect!
