Works for my purposes.
I had a hard time rating this recorder, and finally went with four stars. The reasons are that while it works and does the job, it feels really cheaply made. Expanded below.Pros: Easy to use, intuitive, interface (did not need to refer to manual). Clear, loud recordings with clear playback. Lots of accessories included (lapel mic, phone recorder, etc.). Very easy to activate record function with one hand and not looking at it. Functional voice activated recording with just a 2 second delay.Cons: Feels very cheap. Buttons on the sides are loose and rattle. Recordings pick up significant nearby background noise. Stickers are not made to come off. Picture appears to indicate the display is in colour, it is monochrome. Accessories do not appear durable at all. Instruction manual is in broken english in the tiniest print.Other: Dark red color is actually a dark coppery brown - attractive, but NOT red. Doesn't "look" cheap.I got this to record doctor visits, conversations with elderly people regarding history (which will be transcribed), and personal things like journal entries and reminders. For those things, it works sufficiently. I have not tried it in a conference room or meeting setting, nor am I convinced it would be effective for that.

I wish it was easier to navigate the FF/REW features. But, it worked, is lightweight, and picks up sound well.

I'm sorry, but it is unnecessarily complicated, press this, then that, then some other convulated sequence to play this or delete that. Can't anybody design a product that you don't need to bring the directions with you each time you use it?
