Q: What kind of thickness does this product have? What kind of material could you compare it to? Like a beach outdoor blanket? Yoga mats?

I don’t have a problem with the thickness of the material. I’ve had this cover for several months for my Forester. A problem is tearing of the fasteners - I have to sew the fasteners with needle and thread along the tear lines. Other that that, the cover is holding up.

6 durable elastic straps with wheel hooks secure the cover, without worrying about the windshield snow cover being blown away WISTMAR

Q: Is this thick enough to protect from hail?

It depends on the size of hail! Small stuff would be no problem. But golf ball sized hail could possibly do damage. The material is thin, not padded. I actually returned it because it froze to my windshield. Plus, your windshield must be dry to put back on and I live in Montana with intense winters and constant snow.

What is the question? Are you guys you got me stumped? I don’t know what the question is I know that my cover ripped the elastic straps broke but I don’t know how to go about the warranty whatsoever.
