Using beehive picture hangers for hard walls
This is the first time I have hung a picture using this type of fastener. They work extremely well as a concept, are easily fitted and positioning on the wall is so much easier than conventional hangers, but they do have one problem. They are designed (from US) to hang on soft drywall or plasterboard walls. The hooks are not hardened and cannot be driven into hard plaster or brick. However it is possible to get round this problem by marking the position in the method described by the manufacturer and then pre-drilling the hole with a small drill. The hanger is then set in the hole with a little polyfilla to give a strong fastening. As an addendum to this review I have since found that rather than drilling a hole, it also works by tapping a conventional hardened nail at an angle into the wall. The nail can then be "wiggled" free and replaced with the hanger. So far this seems to be the best method. My pictures are still on the wall!!

Almost great.
It's a nice idea, let down by poor execution in one area. The grid part is great, easy to use, easy to attach, and easy to align. The problem is with the supplied "nail-things" - they're too soft. The softness of the metal along with the requirement to insert it at an angle means that it's virtually impossible to hammer one into the wall without squashing it flat, and thus rendering it useless as a hook. Then when I try to bend it back into shape it snaps. In the end I've resorted to using a regular picture-hanging nail and chopping the head off so that it can go thru the holes in the grid. If I'm honest I think the self-adhesive velcro style hangers are better, or good old fashioned wire.

Picture hanging made dead easy
Having a home of walls with old plaster, hanging up pictures was something I really dreaded and usually ended up with a trip to go and acquire some polyfilla (and still not have any pictures hanging)This was the answer to my prayers, its so easy and I've used these on every picture that's gone up since, they may appear expensive especially compared to a bag of nails however it completely eliminates hassle and therefore are worth every penny in my opinion

and am very pleased to see it come to the UK
I bought this originally through kickstarter, and am very pleased to see it come to the UK.I used them to hang an array of 6 pictures in an irregular pattern on a wall, and the adjustability and stability that these hangers provide is incredible. A lot more stable than a chord across the back of the picture, and once you're into the groove of putting the backs onto the frames, pretty quick too. I didn't set out to measure how fast it was, but I reckon it was quicker to set it all up, and get all the pictures squared up than by the other hanging methods Ive used before.
