Excellent resource & for color matching other floss brands
So much Threaded goodness of 500 or so, DMC floss colors! Complete and the most current threaded color card released to date. All 35 new colors are included. While there have been comments about 16 missing colors, this is incorrect. A quick search yields the following explanation. All 16 colors are shown, along with thread samples:Quote “Those 16 threads are specific to Northern America and aren’t sold elsewhere in the world. Its due to the dyes they use. You tend not to find them used in commercial patterns for this reason. However, DMC made new threads to replace these elsewhere in the world, which are:3880 replaced with 2233881 replaced with 1643882 replaced with 8393883 replaced with 7223884 replaced with 5353885 replaced with 3123886 replaced with 36853887 replaced with 2083888 replaced with 37403889 replaced with 4453890 replaced with 37663891 replaced with 9953892 replaced with 7403893 replaced with 5433894 replaced with 9073895 replaced with 646”I printed the above color info and placed it in my color card for reference. Note. The final page of threaded samples are complete. Some may feel that something is missing, but this is not the case. The light Effects and color variations are simply on the previous threaded sample page. All are included, so no worries. This threaded color card very useful as each color is represented by 9 or more threads. This is very helpful when matching floss color and sheen from, other brands, to DMC colors. (The electronic printed version of the colors is however, easier to use while at a store, vs bringing the entire threaded color card.) The threaded samples, on mine, are very well done, tidy and of high, actual floss quality. The index is very helpful in finding the location of the different colors as it’s in numeric order. Lastly, Although priced higher than buying direct, the $40 price is fair considering it’s always on back order and hard to find.If you, or someone you knows, loves to embroider, cross stitch, etc, than is tool is invaluable! Plus? It’s soooooo pretty! Lolol

Better than color chart
This is a needed thing if you do a lot of color swapping or choosing floss colors for your project. I do cross stitching and this comes in handy. It's much better than just a color chart as you get the actual floss in the chart so it's more accurate and you know exactly what that floss will look like. Its grouped by color shades instead of numbers which is better. It arrived in good shape. It has all of the newer colors such as the variated and metallic threads. It's a good thing if you need to look up what a certain floss looks like. I never new before (and I've been cross stitching for decades) that the regular "white" floss is not the same as the B5200 white floss. The regular white is a natural white whereas the B5200 is a very bright white. That can make a big difference in your project. So they're generally not exchangeable. It's just a good thing to have to look up the colors and see what is what when you need to know.

Superb reference tool!
This card contains the 35 new regular colors, plus other specialty ones as well, including variegated and the E-series, and thickness samples for the Perle coton series. You'll have to make a bit of effort to make sense of the numbering method, but it's not hard to use, and with this card in hand you can match any thread quickly and easily. If you've never bought a color card, you may be tempted to go with the cheaper printed card. Trust me, it's worth the price difference to get this one - you get *actual thread samples,* not a photo, which makes all the difference. This is my second color card. I'm amazed by how different it is from my first one bought years ago. DMC was always the best in the business but they did not rest on their laurels - they continue to expand the range of available colors, thickness and textures. Well done DMC.

Fabulous Color Reference
This will be invaluable for making color and fiber choices for my thread painting and other embroidery projects. Far more useful than a printed version. Touching the actual threads helps me evaluate the textures. The covers and foldout centers are of sturdy, thick, almost glossy, low sheen card stock which should stand up to lots of use and handling. It could also be pinned up to a planning board.Remember that your room lighting affects the colors you see-daylight bulbs will give most accurate vision when choosing skeins to buy. Or even walk outside to view true colors.I paid a little more at Amazon but the prime shipping and quick delivery tipped the scales in their direction vs buying directly from DMC.

Great samples
The samples of thread come in handy when I have some thread I am not sure what color it is.

Slight damage, still usable
The card arrived with bent edges on the spine. There are couple of loose strings as well. Otherwise, I am happy with the purchase.
