Toasty movie nights
An Absolute Dream: The Dreamcatcher Heated Throw Delivers on Comfort and Value! I recently purchased the Dreamcatcher Black Heated Throw Electric Blanket with the primary intention of having a cozy throw-over for those movie nights on the couch, and I can honestly say it has exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I plugged it in, I was impressed. The quality is top-draw – the fabric feels luxurious and soft against the skin, and it drapes beautifully. It's not just a functional item; it genuinely adds a touch of comfort and style to my living room. But where this throw truly shines is in its performance and efficiency. It warms up quickly and evenly, creating the perfect cocoon of warmth for ultimate relaxation. What's even better is how cheap to run it is. I've been using it regularly, and I've barely noticed any impact on my electricity bill, which is a huge bonus, especially with current energy costs. Whether you're looking to enhance your movie-watching experience, add a layer of warmth to your bed, or simply want a wonderfully soft and efficient way to stay cozy, the Dreamcatcher Black Heated Throw is an absolute winner. It's a fantastic investment in comfort and warmth, and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Stopped working
Update - I’ve started using this again with the drop in temperature and just a few days in the control is showing E which means it’s short circuited, broken, kaput! Very disappointed, expected it to last longer than just a few months. I’ve been very careful with it so it’s not due to misuse and it also hasn’t been washed as there wasn’t any need. Seems from reading reviews from other makes that they’re all the same with a limited lifespan. I’ve now got the problem of how to dispose of it, not great for the environment! I’ll try contacting the supplier but as it’s the blanket and not the control, not sure how I’ll get on. Trouble is that I now want to buy another cos when they work, they’re great. Why didn’t I buy this earlier?? This throw is soft and cosy, nice quality. It heats up quite quickly on the high setting and it’s meant that getting home from work after a late shift I haven’t needed to put the heating on before bed and still feel chilled waiting for the house to warm up. It’s lovely to lie on the sofa with this over me, warm as toast and no need to turn up the boiler. I got another for my mum who badly feels the cold and she loves it. Not sure how I feel about washing it but tbh, if it stopped working tomorrow I’d get another. The seller is a British company and online so I’m confident that if there was a problem it could be sorted under the guarantee. One of my favourite purchases.

Fluffy, soft and instant heat
Lovely, soft fluffy heated blanket. I bought this as a birthday gift for my friend who feels the cold. Was with her when she opened it and she was delighted. Immediately set it up, turned on and it started to heat quickly. It’s early days as I’ve read some reviews about these throws stopping working. Gave four stars as the overall quality is good but slight unevenness around the outer edge, where the black outer side merges with white Sherpa fluffy underside, which could be a result of having been vacuum packed. Overall very happy so far.

Warm and cosy
Great, works brilliantly. The blanket is fairly thin, not heavy. Has a soft feel to it. I used setting 2 and was quite comfortable and it took the chill off. There are more temperature settings and a timer. Overall its better than putting the high cost of heating on.

Stopped working after two months, pain to get a refund
My advice: buy a better more expensive one from the outset. What a pain this Dreamcatcher heated throw was. After a couple of weeks the wires started coiling and coiling up in small areas a few inches diameter maybe three or four coils deep and so making very very hot spots, such that I almost burnt myself and wondered whether it was a fire hazard (this is without washing it, I might add). I decided to put up with that and see how it developed. Then after two months the thing just stopped working altogether. Amazon provides no easy means of returning after a month is up, even when faulty, initially saying to contact the manufacturer. Quote: "Within 30 days from the delivery, you can return defective items clicking on ‘Start a return or replacement’ below. If 30 days have passed, please visit the manufacturer website or contact them directly to receive support on legal warranty." So I contacted Futura Direct, the manufacturer, and they said it was down to Amazon as they delivered it. Being batted back and forth between the two is very annoying and made me almost swear never to buy anything from Amazon ever again. Eventually three hours later after going through the maze of Amazon bots going in circles I eventually managed to get a chat with a live person who easily arranged a free Royal Mail collection. Why couldn't they have done that from the beginning instead of lying to me? And talking to Futura Direct is like emailing a chimp pressing random buttons with zero awareness of actually helping the customer out. Now I have to stay in for four hours awaiting Royal Mail to pick the faulty throw up before getting a refund. Save yourself the bother. Just look at the Amazon reviews with critical ones first and you'll see that many have had the problem of this throw stopping working early on. Very very poor. Try a better one and hope if that fails too the return and refund procedure isn't such a pain. I imagine many just give up, which is presumably why they make it so difficult. In two minds whether to use Amazon any more, particularly for things that might fail.
