This pump just came in today and I've already hooked it up. I have two expensive canister filters where the pump failed. Instead of buying another canister filter, I bought this pump to replace the canister filter pump. I set it up in the 'inline' configuration. It is working great. So I am still using the old canister filter, but using this as the pump. A new canister filter is more than seven times more expensive than this pump. This pump is quiet and is moving the water without any problem.

I used this pump to replace the constantly failing drain pump in our clothes washer. Although the original pump arrangement was equipped with a magnetic-drive impeller, there was a poorly designed seal on the shaft which always leaked and allowed water to get inside the motor, causing it to eventually fail. I got tired of having to take the top cover, door, and front panel off the machine just to access it, only to repeat the task in as little as a few months. Since this pump can be utilized in an inline flooded-suction configuration, I fabricated an adapter to fit where the original pump motor mounted onto the pump housing and installed a barbed fitting into it, with a piece of hose from there to the 1-1/2" inlet fitting of the new pump. I blocked off the original outlet port, and moved the discharge hose onto the new pump's outlet, using the included 3/4" fitting. I mounted the new pump onto the washer's base plate, and hooked a 15a/120v cord connector to the machine's wiring, allowing the new pump to be plugged into it, instead of cutting the power cord and hard wiring it. Since this pump uses an o-ring (the threads are for attaching, not for sealing) on the inlet and outlet barbed fittings, and it's a true mag-drive design with no shaft seal, leaks are very unlikely. It has been working fine for over a month now, and since it is designed for continuous operation but is actually only running minutes per day, I bet it will last for many years. It is even quieter than the original style ones were. Looks like another case of a crafty handyman outsmarting the engineers...

So this pump is a bit of a power hog, but it us EXCELLENT if you're on a budget. I have two of them, the first one lasted me 3 years running an overhead sump on an aquarium. I cleaned it every couple of months and the thing that finally did it in? I dropped it on the concrete. Broke the impeller and the casing. Honestly it probably would have gone another 3 years if I hadn't been butterfingers mcgee about it. The inline feature works well, however you HAVE to make sure it's primed before you run it. Don't try to run it dry, because that will definitely fry it, as it will most inline pumps. Its rather large, but I think the beefy size actually lends itself to the long life of this pump. It has enough power to get water from my front porch (I have a pond out there) to the sink 50' away and 4' up to do water changes, too. All around great budget choice, especially if you're using it for water changes.

My fish pond is finally clear, never knew why it would never get really clear looking, now I know, just not enough water moving through the filter. This pump is GREAT. Love it.

Works to pump water to plants from bath tubs to lake and pool. Bad news is the sun killed my plants.

The pump is satisfactory but it only comes with one suction line or intake adapter.

It states there is a 10ft power cord and that is not true at all. It is maybe 4 ft long so plan to buy an additional extension cord
