One of them arrived with maggots on top it was rather disgusting

It seems to be good quality cat food. My 18-years old cats really like it. Everything my cats like, my cats get. For the rest of the time we have together... Although it's quite expensive.

This is the only wet food (besides lower quality varieties like meow mix and fancy feast) my finicky cat would eat. She only likes this one flavor - tuna and shrimp. Every once in a while a random can or two will have weird consistency and she'll refuse to eat them, but I can deal with one bad apple once in a blue moon. Otherwise, I've never had any issues with quality, and although it looks disguising to me, she gobbles it up with gusto. They better never discontinue this item, or they'll be hearing from my cat.

My cat loves the Wellness Signature line and comes running when she hears the sound of the lid coming off. I've been buying this brand for over a year now and love that it is 100% grain free since grain can cause intestinal issues. Cats are obligate carnivores meaning they get all thier nutritional needs from meat, including the by-products. The fact that this line is free of meat by-products doesn't mean much to me. Believe me, if a cat catches a mouse it eats everything including the squeak and the by-products, no morsel is left behind. (Meat generally means muscle meat and by products include liver, heart, kidneys etc.) Sorry if that grosses you out but we are talking about a CAT, not one of the kids. Definition from Wikipedia: "Obligate carnivores or "true" carnivores depend on the nutrients only found in animal flesh for their survival. While they may consume small amounts of plant material, they lack the physiology required for the efficient digestion of vegetable matter." While this brand is a little pricier than what is available at the grocery store it is more completely digested by the cat which means less of it is expelled as undigested poo.

I've always fed my cat Wellness brand and this is her favorite flavor. I know people who feed their cats crappy bargain brands and they inevitably have gunky crap coming out of their tear glands and experience frequent "hairball incidents". I think I've cleaned up 2 hairballs in 7 years and spend literally seconds cleaning my cat's eyes every couple days. Keep the quality up and I'll keep buying. Customer4life.
