This work book has many practice sheets and is just what I needed. The repetition helps me learn the German grammar. There is also an accompanying website that one can use with the workbook for additional practice. It covers all the grammatical tenses and the irregular verbs. I recommend this book to those who want to practice German grammar.

I speak German, but enjoy this book to help me keep it in the forefront of my brain. It’s a huge book with lots of info. High quality.

I need to learn German for an upcoming trip, as I have long since forgotten this language which I spoke as a kid. In the distant past I used the "Made Easy" language workbooks with much success, but unfortunately the one for German is too out of date to be useful to me. So I decided to give this one a try.It is huge! I am confident it has the completeness I am looking for, as advertised. I am learning German much quicker with this than I was using language apps and audio books. For me the writing and repetition is the key to remembering. This book has tons of exercises, so you get lots of practice. The other German books I have tried do not have enough written exercises for me to remember the material, though granted I am 59 and need a lot of repetition to learn things these days.The only thing I wish is that it had little stories or conversations to read like the "Made Simple" books did. It also seems to lack the newer German words related to technology, but those are usually borrowed from English, and are not hard to learn from other sources. So I am using other materials in addition to this workbook to listen to and read German as it is currently used in daily life.

To learn any language you need to learn the basics. You cannot go into a language and start learning phrases and words only to understand how to fit and conjugate them properly in a sentence (Unless you're a genius). This book teaches you the basics and reinforces that learning with a lot of practice. This is ultimately a large workbook. It gives just the right amount of explanation of how and why something is done without the extra fluff. It also gives examples.I highly recommend this book for anyone trying to learn.

Honestly, it is a difficult textbook to get through and no story examples. But when you do the work it implants the necessary knowledge to learn the German language. You will need a good dictionary, verb conjugator and either a language translating device or use an internet translator like Google. Early on the book stops giving English translations of exercises and you will have to look them up on your own, but that makes it stick in your mind...so it is a good thing. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to do the hard work by doing the exercises and finding some answers outside the book for those leaps in understanding.

Outstanding! Also love that it gives translations for every word used in the lessons so I dont have to go back to a dictionary every time and handwrite the translation myself.
