If you're new to Roy Andersson, start with the astounding Songs from the Second Floor. Made during the economic collapse of the 2000s, it is a movie that moves slowly, building up an inexorable momentum, to an infuriating and heartbreaking final act. After making A Swedish Love Story (and hating the experience), Andersson became a commercial director, and now only makes movies when he's able to self-fund them. The results are worth the wait. The words, "Every frame a painting," were made for Roy Andersson. Treat yourself to these amazing works of human experience.

These are wonderful, original, visionary films. However, these discs are for Region B only. :( When will they be available for purchase in the US?
