This screen is great, and the seller was great to work with. This was not the original screen I ordered but after I ordered one from this seller they contacted me and then was brought to my attenion I found out the one I ordered wasn’t going to work with a ultra short throw, they directed me to this one. I am more then happy with this screen just keep in mind you will need two people to assemble this.

If you can get beyond the cheap remote, short power cable, and requirement that this be delivered via a crappy shipper (was like $70 shipping that is charged after purchase regardless of Prime), this is an amazing screen! First the bad: The remote sucks. It is cheaply made and has buttons on it that aren't even hooked up to anything (it is a third party generic remote). Only the Up/DOWN/STOP do anything (which is fine as that's all you need to do) You have to point it directly -and I mean DIRECTLY - at the under side left on the screen (the little IR window). The power cord is hard wired to the unit which sucks because you can't add another longer cable and have to use an extension cord to power it (which makes it look like crap if you need to run it down a wall like we do). The not so good: as with any projector set up, unless you have a super bright projector, it is very hard to watch in the day time even with blinds closed. Because of the tiny holes in the screen for the acoustic transparency some light comes through the back (even when we close the blind on the windows behind the screen). Now the good: This screen has great picture quality (we do 1080p) and the acoustically transparent feature works flawlessly. We have had this screen for 9 months and never once has the motor jammed. Their tech support is great and prompt (had a few issues with how to use the remote) ...and now the truly amazing: you CAN connect this to Alex using a Harmony Remote, app and hub (further referred to as Harmony). YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY THEIR EXTRA REMOTE! (although you do need to buy the Harmony Remote with hub). The Harmony comes with an IR emitter that is on a long cable. If you position this under and a bit forward of the screen , the Harmony will control it when you add the Elite Screen IR into the app (scroll through the device options and Elite Screens will be a choice). After adding all of my other home theater devices to the Harmony app and setting up a "scene" (called it 'TV'), I can, with a single press of a button, make the screen come down, turn my projector on and turn my receiver on to the correct input. Then, with the Harmony Alexa skill, you can control it all with Alexa. We just say "Echo, turn on TV" and it sends the code to the Harmony and activates the TV scene. Then, we programmed an 'OFF' sequence in the scene so when we say "Echo, turn off TV" it turns everything off! Oh, and absolutely let this screen hang open for a couple days. Any wrinkles in the screen (yes, they all have them) will work themselves out. At least they did on mine...

This is my second one (moved) and I've loved them both! They work really great in places where you need the sound to penetrate the screen. You don't even have to sacrifice sound quality! Perfect Solution.

Based on recommendations from Elite Screens, I bought this screen. I was told I could buy a kit and put it up in my ceiling. I was excited! This was all during the pandemic. So it took FOREVER to arrive. When it did arrive, it was bent. Elite Screens didn't really want to help me. There was a lot of arguing and some accusations. So I called Amazon direct. They sent me another one. By that time it was well past my Amazon thirty day return policy...and I hadn't even set it up yet! When I went to set it up the instructions were insane (for putting it IN my ceiling). Elite Screens was adamant that they COULDN'T HELP me at all in figuring out how to do it. I was baffled by that. They literally wouldn't answer ANY questions about it. Very weird. After finally deciphering the instructions, here is what I realized: The ONLY way to install this IN (or above) the ceiling...was to be in an attic or crawlspace and install it from above! When I told that to Elite Screens he grudgingly told me I was correct. WHAT!?!?! I have massive holes in my ceiling! So I patch those all up. Afterwards, I install the thing on my ceiling in about 30 minutes. I turn the projector on and give it a test run.... Wow! Looks Great!!! Looks really GOOooo--- Wait. What the....? What I'm staring at in my darkened theater is a large screen with a beautiful picture on it...and waves. If someone in the movie runs across the screen you see them undulate and flow in an unnatural wave. I immediately call Elite Screens. They say: Take a hairdryer to it. That will help. I look that up....and find out that is what you do if there are wrinkles. There are no wrinkles. (Why would there be wrinkles if it was rolled up?) I call them back and explain this. There is a pregnant pause and then the man mirthfully explains: What did you think you were getting? If you wanted it perfectly flat you buy the tensioned rods. You went cheap. I. Was. Stunned. After coming out of being stunned, I came pack at him saying, fine. I'm happy to pay the extra grand. Let's do it. TO which he replies: I can send you out a different model at the same price point. But we don't upgrade. HUH???? WHAT???!!!! Okay, I say. Will the new model not have waves? It might, he says. I was done talking with him. A month later, I just couldn't deal with the picture. I called back. The guy I was talking to? He doesn't work there any more. I was relieved thinking I'd get someone who would listen. Instead this is what I was told: "Sorry, it's been way too long at this point." And that was that. You get what you pay for. It had a great picture... but it was awful. And Elite Screens were THE WORST COMPANY EVER. TL;DR. You want a truly great screen? Da-Lite and Draper are awesome. But you will pay. You want a screen made in China, with terrible customer support and where all their screens come with a hole to adjust the drop height but also a warning that if you do your warranty is gone? A company that is more interested in your money than their product? Go with Elite Screens. You will definitely save money, but...read the title.

This review is for anyone thinking of getting the Acoustically Transparent 125" Elite Spectrum. My screen is ceiling mounted in front of my 65" tv, center channel, and audio cabinet. The lights from the audio equipment display, can be seen through the screen, even if they are dimmed down. The light from my projector goes right though the Acoustically Transparent screen and hits everything behind it. My walls are light color, so this affects the contrast a lot. I had an older elite vmax screen with 1.1 gain and never had this problem, but it was not Acoustically Transparent. I solved the problem by hanging black cloth behind the screen, but its a annoying because I need to remove it every time I don't use the screen. (I use magnets to hold it to the screen body) With this black cloth behind, the contrast is improved greatly since there is no more light bleeding through. This black cloth is not very acoustically transparent, so what I did was cut out where the center speaker is, and on that section, fill it in with speaker cloth. Now after all this, here comes the image quality. It will make you projector look like it went from 4k down to 1080p. its that bad. But I wanted a bigger screen, and this was the only way to do it. So I'm dealing with it. I wish I was able to get answers from Elite them self before I made the purchase, but they don't even have a phone number to contact them, and I left my phone number for a call back and they never ever called. did it once a week for 4 weeks. I hope it doesn't break, because I can already see what kind of customer service I will get.
