This product along with these two other parts listed below, helped stop a leak that had been ongoing for months. I was getting ready to tear out the drywall on the backside of my bathroom wall to replace the entire unit but a friend suggested I first check the pressure balance valve as well as the cartridge. The cartridge alone ran more than $30.00 a the local Home Depot and I purchased all three parts from Amazon for a few dollars more that what I would have paid at Home Depot for the cartridge alone. Not very difficult to replace and it resolved my leak saving me money on my monthly water bill as well as labor and repairs I would have had to pay to someone else. Easy enough to install. Quality product. It didn't fix the problem I am having with my hot water but only because it turned out not to be the problem. Good installation instructions included.

I was replacing a leaking shower cartridge and found the old metal ring was cracked. This was exactly what I needed.
