Arrived on time in New shape. Works fine & easy to use

First product received had a bad USB cable and had to be held at an angle for it to connect and the fact it was only connecting at USB 2.0 would confirm that there was a problem with the cable. I returned and received a replacement that works 100%.The case has a strip toward the back in that lights up and changes rainbow colors when it has power and does a sliding motion when it's transferring something. There doesn't appear to be a way to disable the lights but overall they are actually not bad looking. The case itself is plastic and very light weight which is a plus for travelling but strong enough to protect the drive. I have a 20mm drive that does fit but the top cover no longer fits. Only gripe I have is that this adapter supports up to 18tb but the case only support physical sizes with the cover on with typical 2tb drives.Overall it's rare to find a reliable adapter that also supports S.M.A.R.T. information so I highly recommend this adapter. Just be weary if you're only getting USB 2.0 speeds as it may be a cable problem.(Pictured) Getting an average of 130 mb/s for a 4tb Seagate SMR 2.5" drive extracted from it's own case.

The built in fan screams like a jet engine. I’ve tried lubing it twice and it appears to resolve the issue for about 8 hours or so before it’s screaming again. The problem I have, is that I used the device 3 times to transfer data. Twice when I first received the product back in August and then recently as part of my troubleshooting process and applying lube to the fan. The device is always connected up to my pc, but I never used it. It failed out of nowhere. This is not acceptable. I emailed the seller, but have heard nothing back. If Amazon can step in, I’d love for them to either replace this unit or issue me a refund.

I have a Sabrent which works fine, but since i will end up doing things with SSD's in the future, it helps to have more than one, and ones that can handle larger drives, new technologies, take advantage of the USB improvements. This one works great, saw the SSD I tested it with. Even my older machine with Win10 saw it, and I was able to play with it.

It light up and changes the pattern with disk writing or reading. This is good plastic case, but don’t drop it on a hard surface. The HDD activity lightning is why I bought this one.

Had a hard drive crash and bought this in a pinch. It worked! Make sure your computer is compatible to the one you choose and the pop in your corrupted hard drive and hook to new computer, it should work. Mine did! Saved me 400$ from having to send it out.
