Anyone looking for top chef grade knives should definitely consider these

The chefs knife took off a thin slice of my thumb as I were cleaning it. Don't think about washing this with bare hands, must use a sponge, they are very sharp!! This kit had most of the knife lengths I needed. The handle felt right, much better then the millennial line of knifes. It fit properly in the hand. They had some protectors on it but I have to buy the hard plastic blade guards. Good quality kit, very impressed so far.

I’ve been a culinary professional for 14 years and I’ve noticed Mercer gets a lot of hate for being the “culinary school” brand, but they’re the culinary school knife for a reason. They can take a beating, They’re sturdy, sharp, easy to hold, nice looking, and aren’t so expensive that you’ll be heartbroken when they inevitably get a little beat up in a professional kitchen. the included case is actually much nicer than i expected and better quality than I’ve seen on other coworkers detached that cost twice as much, It has room for 1 additional knife where i keep my ginsu knife, and 2 Velcro pockets for other miscellaneous items. Are there better knife sets out there? Absolutely, but none are a better value for price in my opinion. These knives will serve just fine to just about any home cook or professional.

Sharp but not crazy sharp

Bought this knives as an emergency being aboard. Buying this set is cheaper than paying overweight at the airport. The bag has room for a few additions, I would say all it need to be perfect would be the 10" Chef Knife no bolster, a cleaver a Santoku and Kitchen scissors. A bit more time and the honing steel should be replaced by a 12" Dick's brand or Swibo Wenger. In the small bags, a lighter, wine opener, tweezers, thermometer and spoons. The perfect gift for a young cook or student. It will be her / his only purchase in many years, until getting paid to start collecting knives as mechanics collect tools. I'll give it away to the youngest cook when I finish my proyect here.
