First I will say that I read every single review I could find on this type of curtain before I settled in on these and bought them. Other black out curtains claimed to be more "plasticy" feeling and that wasn't what I wanted to deal with or they were way to expensive. These curtains are the best of both worlds because they are nice and inexpensive. My husband works nights and so I was really getting them so he could sleep better during the day, but still wanted something decent looking. I purchased the olive color and it is very lovely. The fabric is heavy and thick feeling and very soft and nice to the touch and they hang very well. There is no lining like you would find in hotel curtains, but surprisingly these work just as well. I was hesitant because a lot of reviews said they didn't do a good job at blocking out light, but I think if you go with a darker color you won't have any problems. Some light does come in at the top and bottom, but that is to be expected. Other than that little bit of light seeping through, our bedroom is very dark during the day, including when it is bright and sunny outside. The room isn't pitch black during the day, but for me to get dressed or find clothes that match I have to use my cell as a light to make sure I'm picking out the right things. I can still see objects and things like that, but colors are difficult to decifer especially the darker the color. My husband loves them because he is now able to sleep as long as he needs to and not have to worry about the light bothering him while he sleeps, preventing him from going to sleep, or waking him up early because it being too bright. At night our room is completely dark and its hard to see your hand in front of your face.We have one wall that is nothing, but windows so I actually ordered two sets of these to cover the entire thing and to make sure I had plenty of curtain to still give it a fuller and nicer look.I did give these curtains 5 stars because I was mainly concerned with their ability to darken our room and that is what they do. However, I had read reviews that the curtains weren't cut the same and I don't know if its like the lotto and only a few are like that or if they all tend to be like that, but one of my panels is a different length than the other three. I think it is probably about an inch or so longer than the others, but that is the only panel that is a different length. The rest are exactly the same size. Since I have the four panels the curtains are still bunched and full looking when they are completely shut and the difference in length isn't at all noticeable. I think if you didn't have them as full then it would be way more obvious. It doesn't bother me and I don't even think my husband has noticed, so keep that in mind when you order that there is a chance your panels will be of varying lengths.That is the only thing wrong with these curtains though and it definitely wasn't enough to make me even think for one second to send them back. If you are looking for decent and nice curtains then you can't go wrong with these regardless of what you want to use them for. They really are good quality curtains. If you do want the black out feature then I say go for it, but only if you purchase a darker color. Too many people said the lighter colors weren't affective, so if you can avoid it then I would. I love them and couldn't be happier and if I ever need curtains in the future then I will definitely purchase these again.PS...The seller is awesome too. I didn't have to contact them for anything, but my husband and I live in Germany at the moment and the curtains came to us in a week, which is amazingly fast for shipping over here. So I am very pleased with that as well. All in all super happy with everything!!

These are the best curtains I have ever purchased! I have had these on my wish list here on Amazon for over a year now, and finally was able to purchase them. It's not that they are expensive, but that there was always something more pressing we needed. For the quality of these, they could easily be the same price for one panel. We are all so impressed! I washed them when they arrived, and hung one panel up in my dad's room because his room needs it the most. There is a streetlight that shines in his room at night, and it is such a tiny room that it fills the room with light, and the bed faces the window, so it is quite bothersome. For over a year, we've had a white curtain taped to that window. I know, but hey, it's all we had, and it worked better than not having it.We don't use the furnace in this house because a lot of work needs done to the ductwork, and furnace itself. So, we use Puraflame heaters in his room and mine, and an oil heater in the living room that heats up most of the house on its own. The night after I hung this curtain in his room, he commented on how much nicer it was. I said, "Oh because it's so much darker in there?". He said, "Well, that too, but I mean it was so much warmer in there, the heater didn't need to kick on nearly as much. It only kicked on twice, and it didn't stay on as long either. ".Now, that is something I did not expect to hear! That is a big plus! I'm sure it might've kicked on more while he was sleeping, but it was noticeably less enough for him to say something, and he's mentioned the same thing every day since, lol. He really likes the curtain, and I'll be buying more for the rest of the house each month, as I can. Every window in this house needs new curtains. It's just a good thing I only have 6 more windows to go, but at this price, and now that we no longer have a car payment, it is affordable.I also want to mention the back of the drapes. When I was hanging them, I thought it was odd because I know they say it's a "thermal" drape, but you would never know it! The back of them, looks just like the front! And hey, the material is super soft, and would make a really comfy blanket! I'm not even kidding.....it's very comfortable material. Not at all like any other drapes I've ever had.I purchased the olive color, and it is true to the product image. I am so happy about that, because it is a beautiful color. I just might get the same for the living room, and my room as well. These are far better than I expected, and I can't wait to get the rest of the house completed.*UPDATED 2/25/16*I updated to say that I went ahead and put the other panel up in my dad's room. It didn't need it, but the other window I was going to put it up in needed 2 panels. He loves these drapes, and keeps commenting on how much warmer his room is. He actually hasn't even needed to use his heater as much, and keeps it turned down by half now. He was having that reaction even with the one drape. I still can't get over how nice the fabric is. The back of it is so similar to the front, which is great because it looks nice on the other side of the window too. No crinkling or odd material on the back, just beautiful and works great!*This product was purchased at FULL PRICE, not discounted or free. I highly recommend, as I will be purchasing more for the rest of my home.

Absolutely gob smacked at how great these curtains are. I had a pair just like these in dark grey and could no longer find that same brand. Those blocked about 90% of the light and were great at blocking noise and heat from the sun. Let me just say that these in lilac are as close to those as I can get!!! These curtains block about 85% of the light, and I needed at least that because my bedroom gets direct sun all day. Because of the sunshine, I also needed a thermal curtain to block the heat from said sun, and these do that so well that the room stays cool all day!!! They are of heavy weight polyester with a thermal lining in between the 2 layers of fabric which is so much better than the old rubber backed drapes of my youth. With the same fabric on the front and back they are much more decorative, and they don't fall apart when washed. These curtains also have a tab back or rod pocket option. While I like the movement of the tab back better for opening the curtains, I found that the rod pocket choice is better for keeping out the light on top since this gives a ruffle that goes above the rod. I was skeptical because of the lighter color, that these would do this good a job, but they do that and more. I knew from experience that colors online tend to be lighter than they are in person, so I lucked out here. The color is a darker lavender than the photo which was a perfect match to the bedding and accessories in my bedroom (score)! All in all I would say these were perfect for my needs and I am definitely pleased as punch with this purchase. I highly recommend them, and the price is good too!

Curtains came in improper packaging, torn in several areas, dirty curtains, wrinkled beyond belief,took 2 hours to iron out the wrinkles, ugggg
