The Craft and Art of Clay: A Complete Potter's Handbook

I was desperate, after falling in love three years ago with the potters' wheel, and everything that goes along with it I moved away from my first instructors at LTCC. I found a "studio" near to where I live now - pffffft. So I sent an email to my favorite ceramicist ehhhver and she suggested that I try to get a copy of this or any edition of it. I am so glad I splurged on this rad book YO!WOW!!!!!!! I was totally intimidated at first - it is super informative and just packed with great instruction. I finally found out what some of the terms I had overheard for the last couple years mean. They spent a lot of time shooing me away from what the advanced learners were doing ... I like to learn. This book provides wonderful complex and complete coverage for the Craft and Art of Clay.

I used this product for a college course and it worked very well and had all the material I needed to know. When I received the package, my book was not damaged and was in good condition.

I have been working in clay for over 50 years. I now teach at the local community college. I use this book as my main text for all three levels of Ceramics at my college. It has all the technical information needed to troubleshoot any studio issue. But what sets this book apart from all the general survey books on ceramics are the pictures. There are an amazing abundance of great images of fantastic ceramic pieces.

I bought this for my daughter who is doing Art in school. She loves it . It has broadened her knowledge of the art of clay and it has great illustrations.

Very Comprehensive information, including tests, glazes and great charts. Laid out well and inspirational. Make sure it's in your library.

Beautiful book. Well worth the price. Plenty of comprehensive information and pictures. It belongs on your shelf or your lap.

Good resource to have in your studio

very good book, lost of detail, great for anyone interested in working with clay. I have not seen such comprehensive book before taht includes well explained techniques, for throwing, hand-building, slip, decoration. You name it, it's in there.

Hugely impressive and very detailed. A must for those interested in furthering their knowledge of ceramic processes and much more. Great illustrations
