I have enjoyed each and every one
I have Keith's entire collection. I have enjoyed each and every one. There is something new in each volume, when taken collectively, provides everything an aspiring ship modeler needs from an instructional standpoint. Keith, when is the next one coming out!?

come sopra
stesso giudizio del libro precedentemente censito. poche spiegazioni poche foto nulla di ecclatante. pensavo veramente fosse molto meglio. non da' assolutamente piu' di tanto come spiegazioni.

Great Book, badly printed!
A very good book, " Content Wise", that is well up to Keith Julier's usual standard. I personally found the chapters on building HMS Victory's Launch and HMS Mars, probably the most interesting features. Which alone make the book a very worthwhile purchase for me.However! All his skill and effort has been badly let down by the very poor printing, certainly in the copy that I received. The black and white illustrations are fuzzy and the quality of the colour print is terrible. Quite a surprise, from what I have always thought of as a reputable publisher - Special Interest Model Books!

Very nice insight into wood ship, plank on frame kit modeling.
Even though the two other reviewers didn't like this book, I found it well written, well organized and focused on the subjects the book is intended to cover, to wit, as the publisher description says, " The basic modeling instructions have been comprehensively updated and nine of the eleven model projects are brand new, as are all the color and black and white illustrations." Outstanding models from various makers are reviewed in terms of all components of the build - planking, decks, fittings, masts, rigging, etc. I found each rather detailed description of the building of each model very instructive, for this kind of modeling in general, as well as it pertained to the individual kit. I appreciated the tips and advice one gets from an experienced modeler. Also, in the last section of the book, are more focused treatments of specific modeling tasks such as planking, masts, rigging, and so forth. I pick this book up regularly and with each reading learn something new. If you are interested in starting out in wooden ship modeling, I recommend this book to you.
