BEWARE: Supplied with SMA male not RP-SMA male as advertised and on the box
UPDATE: After adding SMA male to RP-SMA male adapters, testing this was possible and it does work. The magnetic base is effective, and the lead is a generous length and seems robust. The performance and signal strength to my various routers was similar to a much smaller antenna I use, and I didn't observe any reception benefit overall. If needing a magnetic base this might be a candidate, but having the wrong connectors and needing adapters bumps the price up by around 50%, hence only 2 stars.Initial Review:This product has an SMA male connector and not the RP-SMA connector as advertised in the text and on the product box itself. RP in this context means reverse polarity, where a male connector does not have a pin and a female connector does. While one image does show an SMA male, others show an RP-SMA as expected and as described. The general convention is that WiFi devices use RP-SMA connectors and cellular devices use SMA connectors. Thus a WiFi card would typically have an RP-SMA female connector, which is a screw thread and a pin, and an antenna would have RP-SMA male of a rotating nut and no pin. I've ordered a converter and will test with that installed and update the review accordingly.
