Best third party capsules for Nespresso
This is the best third party capsule I’ve tried to date, plus it’s environmentally friendly compared to Nespresso. In comparing the actual flavor, I’d give it 4.5/5 to Nespressos 5/5, it’s almost as smooth and tastes great, I barely notice a difference and the price difference makes that worth it. If you’re hesitant, go to Woken’s website and get sample boxes for $6 each, which is what I did. Finally happy to have found a third party brand I’m happy with. I’ve tried quite a few and always gone back to Nespresso so this is a first.

Best 3rd-Party Nespresso Capsules period.
I'm a big fan of compostable coffee pods - I've got a Keurig (that I loooove) but didn't love the plastic waste, so I switched to OneCup pods. The coffee was amazing.Same thing here - I got a little Nespresso machine, and by God did I love it.... But the same problem: plastic waste. So I searched for compostable Nespresso capsules. Because I go head-first into everything, I ordered a 60 pack of Arabica.Good foam head when pulled, very fragrant, not "burnt" or stale smelling. Flavor is excellent. I haven't yet encountered the difficulty some had with the lid failing to pierce, but my machine is quite new.Not the cheapest capsules, but I get caffeine, good taste, and some peace of mind. I have zero complaints. I'm not a coffee aficionado, I'm more a caffeine junkie, but the Woken Arabica capsules taste quite good.UPDATE: A WEEK LATERMy original rating of five stars remains unchanged. Making espresso with these capsules daily for over a week - not a single issue with performance (someone reported a performance issue) for me, and the flavor has been great.

Good quality coffee, inconsistent performance
I have to say by taste Woken 02 is the best coffee replacement for Nespresso I tried so far. The capsules fit well into my new LattissimoPro machine - no more jamming. The reason I put 3 stars for it is that they do not function as well as non-compostable capsules. The water is barely moving through the capsule and coffee comes out very, very, very slowly, almost dribbling as someone described in another post. It takes up to 2 minutes (instead of 20-30sec) to make 1 lungo cup. Machine keeps pushing the water until proper amount delivered. On further analysis I can see what casing the problem. The lid on these capsules is not a foil but some type of fabric. That is probably why company calls these capsules compostable. But the fabric gets stretched when machine is trying to punch it and not getting punched through completely all around making the lid working like filter. Also I am not quite sold on the idea that these capsules are truly compostable as the body is still made from some kind of plastic.I am torn on the decision what to do. I worry that this problem can brake the expensive machine. I'll give it another try, but if these capsules continue malfunction I will send them back.Update 12/19/2017. I tried few more capsules and to be fair they did work better. Still some took a little more time to push the water through. But the coffee taste very good.

Great taste with the kick!
This is the best tasting third-party coffee I’ve ever had. After receiving a Nespresso Citiz and Milk for Christmas, I tried several of other brands from Amazon and BB&B and what I’ve noticed is the pods are slow to brew but more importantly, they lack the flavor and KICK that I enjoy to wake up in the morning and provide a boost in the late afternoon. Woken definitely has the perk any good coffee drink should and a great flavor with crema. I do appreciate the ability to compost but that’s offset by the waste of individually-wrapped pods. Why not wrap 10 at a time? Or shrink wrap the box with eco-friendly materials? Even still, I’ll remain loyal and look forward to trying other flavors.

Much better than other "knock off" Nespresso pods
I bought these because I just got a Nespresso machine but using single use plastic every day is clearly awful for the environment. These are really good, they make a nice strong cup of espresso that tastes much better than other brands of pods I've tried. I'm very pleased so far and will update once I see if they actually break down in a decent amount of time in my compost!

Even better than name brand!
LOVE these pods! We had been getting the nespresso brand pods, which are fine, but kind of expensive and a pain to order. I saw an ad on IG for these pods, and was willing to give them a try in an effort to reduce our plastic waste. WOW I was impressed! They fit perfectly in our mini Nespresso, they’re richer and smoother than the name brand capsules, and I can compost them immediately after use! I love how easy they are to order, too! I hope they put the decaf pods on amazon ASAP, I can’t wait to try them!

Love this coffee
Love this coffee! It’s great for lattes. I have one every morning to start my day. I really like that these pods are compostable too. A downside (if you can call it that) is that it seems to take a little bit longer to brew a shot of espresso compared to the Nespresso brand pods. I initially thought it was too much water but then I tested the amount of espresso coming out and it’s the same at the Nespresso brand. All in all it’s great coffee at a fantastic price.

The coffee is good, and they work well -- no odd jamming ...
These are the only compostable pods I've found. The coffee is good, and they work well -- no odd jamming or explosions like a couple compatible pods I've tried. The only difference I've noticed is that the coffee seems a tiny bit hotter. But the flavor is as good or better as the other nespresso and compatible ones I've tried. Yay!
