It's essential reading to understand the middle ages.
In the middle ages, A. was "the philosopher", the ultimate authority on everything. Why? He was tutor to Alexander the Great, conqueror of the world. Obviously he -knew- things about politics, statecraft and war, and he wrote them down in these works. Those parts are not obsolete, even now. A. also -used- his rep[utation and wealthy patrons to collect all human knowledge and summarize it. These works are his lecture notes, carefully preserved by his students, copied manually during all the years until the printing press. As lecture notes they are sometimes brief to rudeness, but remember, brevity is a beloved virtue when a book must be copied by hand.

NOT Aristotle (Happy Hour Books Edition)
Despite the description and author citation, this is NOT the work of Aristotle. It's a 17th century forgery better known as "Aristotle's Masterpiece" - an anonymous work on midwifery and sex. It contains NO writings of Aristotle, nor anything remotely related to it, despite the detailed description to the contrary. Extremely deceptive.Note: I'm referring to the Happy Hour Books (ISBN: 935848019X) "Aristotle: The Complete Works". Other reviews on this page seem to be referring to other publishers' books with the same/similar title. They are completely different works.
