Dishonored Vol. 2: The Peeress and the Price

Not sure what point this served...
I have no idea why this was written, I really don't. And I say that as a huge fan. Absolutely no story is told here. We see Emily dealing with people who are against the government and questioning the role of the Empire, but they all have a point. She's an ineffective ruler and she has her own personal assassin at her side the entire time when things get out of line. The fact the Overseers still exist when she herself is taking advantage of Void power is the biggest smack in the face to the populace who gets jailed for having bone charms.Otherwise this is way too short and insubstantial. I'm pretty annoyed I bought it to be honest, but it rounds out my collection of expanded universe stuff.

Yay
A good quick story from the universe of dishonored. The only thing I didn't like was flipping the pages right to left. That was a little weird for me, but I understand it is a viable way for comics to turn so... Other than that really liked it.

Full Short Story- Beautiful Artwork
Beautiful cover and interior artwork. Easy to read and follow. All issues together into a bound edition makes for an amazing short story in the Dishonored Universe. The hardest part of the book was to not read in Corvo or Emily's Voice.

Boring Plot
The ending was similar to the Wyrmwood Deceit's (just with Emily instead of Corvo) and the story wasn't very interesting at all.

Pointless addition to the series
As much as I enjoyed reading a little bit more of the adventures of Emily Kaldwin, this graphic novel was just not it. This is obviously very subjective, but I'm not really a fan of the art. It's so blocky and dark that it makes difficult to see the full range of emotion on any of the characters. The story itself is also very short, so all of the plot points, characters, and themes introduced are not explored in a meaningful way. Because of the length, all of the character motivations and traits need to be blatantly obvious, which makes the story very trope-y and completely in-your-face.
