Neat magic trick, overpriced for what it is
Feels solid, and is a fun magic trick. Definitely overpriced.

well made
Convincing and well-made, you still have to learn to do the trick yourself ;) Their instructions could be better, but their video covering the same type of trick with larger coins is adequate.

Cool gimmick; only takes a bit of practice to perform simple versions of the trick
Item: Ted's Sterling Magic Disappearing Dime and Penny Trick with Metal Bang RingPrice (at time of review *): $11.99(* Note that I receive some items at discounted or zero cost through Amazon Vine participation. The price indicated is the purchase price, with or without discounts, as advertised on the product page at the time this review is posted)Pros: I ordered the standard version of the trick and at first thought I was missing a component. Even when reading the instructions, it didn't provide much information as to the gimmick, which took visiting the website to learn. Once I watched a couple of videos (I'm a visual learner), it didn't take much practice to perform the easier versions of the trick, and I would assuredly be considered a novice. Useful for anyone who works with kids as a cool ice-breaker or distraction for a child in distress.Cons: I would have liked a bit more info on the gimmick in the instructions vs having to view videos online. Also, the video for the actual 'dime and penny' trick is not available, so you need to go to an alternate trick with a similar gimmick (the "Scotch and Soda' trick) to learn it.Ratings (1-10 scale; 0 = Very poor, 5 = Average, 10 = Exceptional)Quality: 8Value (based on purchase price of $11.99): 7Utility: 8Overall: 7.5Hopefully you found this review helpful in identifying the best product to meet your needs.

Impressive little coin gimmick.
I've had a coin gimmick before (folding quarter - though I'm not sure if it's by the same company) and I was incredibly impressed with the machining that went into it. This is of at least a similar quality. At first, I was puzzled at the contents of the package as it seemed like it was just two coins and a ring. Well, one of the coins is a "certificate of authority" and nothing to do with the actual item. The other coin, I picked up and was wondering what the deal was. Even knowing it was supposed to be a gimmicked coin, I couldn't tell. I could maybe feel something with my fingers but I have felt something similar before on other coins so it doesn't really give much away.Fortunately, all is revealed in the videos and when you see what's going on (and I won't spoil it), it's nicely impressive. The first trick shown is fairly straightfoward even my non-dextrous hands could pull it off reasonably convincingly.I will say that it is a little fiddly though I think that's mostly practice but they also sell a bigger version which some people might find easier to manipulate. On the other hand, smaller might be better for some tricks. Either way, it's a fun thing which is pleasant to own. Just don't put it in any charity boxes. Recommended.

doesnt fit together at all
Usually this brand is decent, but this trick is machined badly. The coin does not fit in the shell, making it a completely defective trick. If I get a working one I will re-review.

EASIEST HOW TO and review of the standard set…
This is really good quality. The coins look absolutely real. Once the trick is completed, the coin can be inspected. The “bang ring” is just to separate the two halves of the coin. The instructions are OK, but it is easier to navigate through their videos. The ‘dime & penny’ trick video is not available yet, so you have to watch the ‘scotch and soda’ video. It is the same thing, just different coins. There is a QR code that brings you to their videos page. If you were buying this set, I would upgrade to the premium one. Here is the ABSOLUTE easiest way to do this trick: Have someone hold out their hands, palm up. Place the trick dime in their hand, then stack the trick penny on top. Do this slowly and deliberately, and ask, ‘the dime is still under the penny, correct?’ Keep your finger on top of the penny and have them squeeze their hand shut. Press down with your finger (to squeeze the coin back together) WHILE you tell them to really squeeze hard. Remove your finger from their hand and let them see you are not holding anything. Make a magic gesture and have them open their hand. The dime is gone. Bonus - have a real dime somewhere so you can make it “reappear”. No skill required.

Poor quality
It's a nice trick but....It's not good quality. The coin was put into the bang ring and and split. The insert was poorly glued together and that split also. Both sides of the penny didn't match. One side was bright and shiny and the other looked old and corroded. Would not recommend this seller.
