Ignore the negatives, They didn't follow instructions
Worked better than expected. Read several reviews that said it didn't work and the only thing I can think of is they did not follow the directions or did not wait long enough before leaving a review. As per the directions we waited 3 days and saw a remarkable difference. However there was still a little growth here and there. We treated it a second time and there is barely a trace of algae growth anywhere. I am going to treat it 1 more time in a few days and there should be no trace left.Unfortunately I didn't think to take a before photo. But you could barely see through the glass, the plants were covered and the water was cloudy.

100% works but might be a bit harsh
We have a small 5 gallon portrait fish tank that gets enough natural light shining on it that algae has been a problem. I’ve done regular water and filter changes but it turns green again in a day.I put only 4 drops in the tank to start and that might have been too much! The water turned crystal clear and clean very quickly but it seemed to affect our snail. At 1 drop a month this one bottle will last years! Very well packaged and looks great.

Works well
The active ingredient is not toxic to fish at the recommended dose. But if you have a lot of algae and cannot see thru your aquarium due to algae you need to be ready to do some work. Before treatment clean and remove all the algae that you can. After treating you will need to do water changes as the algae dies. The dead and decomposing algae can reduce oxygen levels, rise toxin levels and possibly kill fish. For those needing help with the math to calculate the dose for small tanks.Use one drop per gallon. Also don't forget to deduct water volume for the equipment ,decorations , plants and substrate in your tank. That can really decrease your tanks total water volume.

Killed our betta and mystery snail :(
I followed the directions to a T. I even did calculations many times to make sure I was giving the right dosage for both tanks, and even then I did a smaller amount of this stuff to be safe. Hours after the second dose, my snail started randomly falling off the side of the tank. My betta girl started sinking to the bottom. I immediately took them out and switched the water as safely as I could, but it was just too late. Both passed away. I had them both for 1½ and have had no issues. I'm truly hurt about this.

Be very careful when using this product!
I suddenly had major green water that you couldn't even see the fish from algae!! My tank is by a large glass window which unfortunately doesn't aide in the algae prevention. I could not get rid of it so i tried this product.Tetra is typically the BEST brand in aquatics however, even when following the instructions, after a water change, my tank was back to green again where I literally could not see my fish 3 days later so I followed the directions and added more rather than cycling the tank. Sadly I found one of my parrot fish dead three says later when I decided to finally do a 3/4% where change to get rid of as much as possible. This product is not safe when used as recommend! Very disappointed in Tetra right now!Upon looking further into this product since it has safety warnings all over it it actually ELIMINATES OXYGEN in the tank! I do not recommend using this every 3 days as recommend on the bottle. Instead, I suggest cycling the tank about every 4 days depending on how bad your situation is, adding a good quality water conditioner using same temperature water and adding it to the tank again. That seems to be working for me so far. Also be sure when you use this to change the filter every time you cycle the tank or change the water no matter how new the filter, this will help eliminate the old algae from flowing through the filter again and putting it back in the water. Also be sure to scrub ALL decor in the tank, as well as the walls of the tank. I am even considering replacing some of my gravel but not all as its important when cycling a tank or setting up a new tank to leave some old gravel in as it contains healthy bacteria that the fish need.In conclusion, its just better to cycle the tank every 4 days or so, add same temperature water with conditioner and use recommended dose of the algae remover rather than keep adding it every 3 days. Cycling the tank does no harm... some fish breeders even do it every 1 to 2 days. Also some fish are more hardy than others so just he careful, knowing about your fish and how hardy they are can help tremendously! Hope this helps!

Great for small one fish tanks
Works great for our small tank, one betta fish and a live plant in it. We used to get a lot of algae in it but this alone with the magnet cleaner seems to do the trick
