My favourite craft book!
This book was one of the first craft books I ever purchased, I absolutely love it just the same a year later. There are so many simple craft projects for you to try, and it's a book you keep going back to for inspiration. Nothing is too complicated. Some of the tutorials are perfect for a day when you don't have many supplies in but you still want to be creative, as many of the ideas are for "doing up" clothing, or re using broken jewellery. If you are sick of craft books that require to you spend a lot of money, this book is for you. I wouldn't really recommend it if you are against going to bootsales and charity shops, as this book really recommends using different "hunting grounds" to find your treasures, including looking at the bootsales.Love this book!

Ever-useful buy
Books claiming to help you be fashionable and creative whilst avoiding the credit crunch seem to be mushrooming at the moment, but this one has to be one of the very best. None of the projects is unwearable or extreme, all are easy to achieve and it really is likely that you will have or can find the necessary materials without a problem or too much expense. The style is cheerful with clear explanations to help even those inexperienced with a needle and thread. With most craft books I find one or two projects I want to make with the rest of it ignored, but with this book I'm spoilt for choice and my grandaughter couldn't decide where she wished to start on her list of wants.Definitely recommended.

In Retrospect,
I wish I just borrowed this from the library. Some of the items in this book are pedestrian at best, some are genuinely pretty. But to be honest they all have a crafty look about them. Call me picky but I like my accessories to look shop bought or really elegantly handmade and this book didn't really deliver, although the models were gorgeous, that gives it an extra star (I know, I'm superficial Dx).I would advise you to borrow it from the library before actually buying it yourself, I was really annoyed when I found it in my local one days after I bought it.

Pretty vintage
I love this book lots of lovely projects with lovely pictures throughout. Lots of ideas and easy to understand instructions. I even own an item of clothing pictured and have never worn it as it was so plain but i have been inspired to change the buttons to revamp it to something i love. Yay. Not everything in this book is my taste but it gave me enough to work with am very please i bought this book.

Some great little ideas
I bought this as a present for a friend and she loved it. It has some cool ideas that I will definitely try when I borrow it. It's nicely laid out with step-by-step pictures. I would recommend this book for beginners looking to be more creative and improve items they have.

Some great ideas
Beautifully shot photos to really inspire you. Some great projects - not all things I would personally wear but the point is they will inspire to make your own version with your own fantastic vintage finds. Great ideas for customising and giving a new lease of life to things you already own or putting your collection of trinkets and treasures to good use.

Great inspiration for girls of slender means!...
Unlike many books on customising clothes and accessories, this book actually contains clear how-to information as well as pictures of the finished articles.I have even attempted some of the projects which is amazing!.(Most books of this kind sit gathering dust on the shelf once the initial enthusiasm has worn off.) I am a novice seamstress but I could still make sense of the instructions.Highly recommended for any fans of retro style fashion, especially 1940s style looks.
