It works very good

I don't know much about lathes and I have one I have never used yet. That is why I bought these tools. I have full size set but they are not carbide and will require a lot of sharpening. This set is smaller for detail work and since i can just screw on a new edge it will be easier and I don't have a grinder set up for gouges. This set is good quality, I'm not to sure about the metal shafts on these but they appear strong enough. I would have thought they would have included two cutter bits of each type, they only give you one set.

I have been using an old set of HF turning tools for years. My father gave me a set of small precision tools (I think for working with pen blanks) a year ago. I had gone from turning the occasional burl and carving out a bowl to turning pen blanks into knobs for guitars. The tools I had worked OK, but everything needed a fair amount of sanding. It was also hard to get the right angles and into tighter spaces.I should have picked these up a long time ago.The handles feel solid and provide a good grip. They are easy to manipulate angles in your hand and making the cutting end go where you want it. The carbide tips seem to be doing a wonderful job.They seem to be "standard dimensions" so finding replacements shouldn't be hard.--I do wish the set included one spare cutter of each style.Other than that these are great!

This makes a very nice addition to my turning tools. Since I don't have any other mini turning tools, it's nice to order something I don't already have. Not only are they small, but there is not weight or bulk to them. I think these might be great for those just learning the skill and for those of a younger age.These feel nice in my hand. The handles have a quality finish on them, as does the stem of each tool. The rotatable and replaceable cutter tips are made of carbide steel and should keep a nice sharp edge. Speaking of sharp, these came very sharp. I'm glad they put the tips in a separate plastic container, not only to keep me protected but to keep them protected too.These are good set of turning tools at a pretty good price.

The media could not be loaded. These tools are pretty nice, they are really sharp and obliviously have the replaceable carbide tips. The handles are solid and have a nice feel in hand, the tool head is square stock so it lays easily on the tool rest. The tips came separate with a screw driver that comes with most of the carbide tips cheap, but it works. I think these tools would make a nice addition to any wood turners tool set, or for a beginner these would be awesome, they're very sharp and also small, I think beginners should try to start small. These would be perfect for pen making, bottle stoppers, seem rippers, and rings. I want to make sure everyone understands these are (MINI), no where close to full size or even medium sized. I tried to show in the attached pictures of the mini tools in comparison with a medium sized and a small sized lathe tools and these are the smallest one pictured. I attached a short video to show that they are indeed very sharp and I think they will have a long sharpness life span, plus if they dull another set of tips are only a few dollars and you start fresh again. I would recommend these for beginners and anywhere in between, they have a place on my lathe for certain jobs and I will used them for small things that I make from time to time. I am very happy to have these tools.
