Is a great tool

Equals my Robert Sorby tools in quality. Razor sharp out of the box; huge and heavy. Leaves a great finish. Well packaged. It is a purpose-built tool; can only be used for cleaning up the inside of larger bowls and other face work, it would not be terrible useful on other spindle turning, but it excels at its intended use. I will update this review if there are any long term quality issues; but I do not expect any. Excellent tool, especially for the money.

Handle is somewhat awkward to hold

I kept the tool and have another that feels solid made by UF-sharp. This one is to light for me for turning. I think its the metal not the handle.

I am upgrading my lathe chisels from carbon steel but didn't want to break the bank. I took a leap based on the round nose scraper reviews and purchased the 1" skew. The skew was well protected in a plastic tube with foam at each end and in an Amazon cardboard box. Out of the tube, the skew cut like dream. I use my skews more like a negative rake scraper and it has performer flawlessly on some very hard woods such as Osage orange and Peruvian rosewood. So far so good.

well made. did have to regrind the bevel as the angle was to steep to be safe and effective. Worked well after that

Good design hard metal very sharp & good handle. Round the corners a bit and it will be your favorite turning tool.
