High Quality Immersion Oil
If you're using a microscope at low magnification to look at insect wings and things you can see with a naked eye, you won't need this product. It starts becoming very helpful indeed at higher magnification levels though. Immersion oil is important because it increases the resolving power of a microscope. It's especially helpful at extreme magnification, replacing the air gap between the immersion objective lens and cover glass with a high refractive index medium that reduces light refraction. I have found that this oil performs well, when viewing bacteria. It is bubble free and clear, with no visual contaminants. It works as hoped, with a definite increase in resolving power obtainable. The image is brighter and more clearly defined. There is no applicator included, and you will need to provide your own. If you use microscope objectives beyond 100X, you'll be wanting to order a bottle.
