Howard Chalk-Tique Dark Furniture Wax a Blend of Beeswax and Carnauba Waxes - Ideal for Wood, Glass, Ceramic, Metal - Create Distressed Aged Patina (dark)

I ordered this to wax a baby changing table I had done a repurpose on for our nursery in green chalk paint. I love how deep and rich the color is. It is extremely soft and dries pretty quickly, so be mindful of that. I’ve worked with other waxes over chalk paint before and this dries and cures MUCH faster than anything else I’ve worked with. I applied it for this project using a chalk paint/wax round brush and we waited a bit for it to debut before adding more and removing in a circular motion. If you mess up and need to remove, adding more will soften the existing wax enough to get any excess off the project. It is not incredibly dark like some waxes and it’s pretty forgiving. I do like that the quick dry time equals a relatively quick cure time as well! Pictures included for reference.

Genius product! Exactly what I was looking for.

The only reason I bought this paste wax is because it is described on Amazon as 'non toxic'. It contains petroleum distillates and 'ate through' three latex gloves. The smell is absolutely disgusting and caused headaches and nausea. The inside of my nose has been bleeding since using this product. I feel I have brought something really toxic into my home and this has caused me anxiety. I do not know how long it will take for the smell to go off from the bookcase I have waxed. I am left with a huge tub of a product I never want to use again, and which is difficult to dispose of. The listing for this product should be updated by Amazon to disclose all ingredients and to include the health and safety information.

As others have mentioned, this is very much like shoe polish, although the smell isn't quite as harsh. Despite only applying a little and a lot of polishing, it simply smeared the surface of my unit. In the end, decided to paint over it.

Easy to apply and has a great smell. It was my first time applying a wax to chalk paint and I found the product was easy to work with .

This is a great stain. I use it almost every time I do my crafts. I actually dip my fingers in it and rub it on to give whatever I’m working on a rustic age look it’s very good. It’s very nice.
