I purchased this product to install a 100 foot zip line. I was going to jury rig a way to tighten the cable but decided it was safer to use the proper tool and avoid a costly E.R. visit if the cable cut loose. I chose this product because it has a guard that prevents the grip tool from falling off the cable. The tool performed perfectly and did not slip at all on a 1/4 inch stainless steel cable. I made the right choice and can highly recommend this product which is well made and easy to use.

I purchased this to pull and tension a 500' zipline, and it worked perfectly. I like that the cable was captured in the grip as it made it easier to use by myself. It is sturdy and half the price of its competitor. I am very happy with this purchase.

Simply though thoroughly packed. We clamped it on the 150 ft cable and winched it tight with a come-along.No muss, little fuss. Good product, more hardware or farm supply stores should carry this. JM

Works great. I haven't had an issue with it yet. The bottom part of the jaw is thinner than others I've used which makes it easier to use when there is fiber or coax lashes to the strand.

I bought this to stretch a 120' of 1/4" steel rope for a zipline. The first time, it started slipping just before I got the tension I wanted. So, I used some 'southern engineering' to add just a little to the clamping force and my second try was 100% successful. This tool is strong and well-made. I had no worries about it breaking or not being strong enough.

This gripper along with a ratchet strap worked great at pulling wire rope tight.

This tool does not grip the wire rope tight enough causing it to slip. I had to return it.

Had a concern that sentence design for cables and might not be as effective on a rope but it worked great held that rope strongly never slipped and I put a lot of pressure on her I could dance on top of my line
