Disc Drive For PS5 Digital Edition Consoles (slim)

This works great with PS5 pro. I was a little nervous because you have to snap off a part of the chassis to install it, but after I got over my apprehension and just went for it, it installed perfectly. I haven’t had any issued playing my disc-based games (AC Shadows, Split Fiction, Wukong, Lies of P, etc.). This is a must if you have physical PS5 games and want to upgrade to the Pro.

It does what it should. It works great for the people that still actually use disk games. It was easy to install on my PS5 Pro.

Arrived on time, in great condition. Easy to install and working well for the past couple months.The drive itself makes a little sound but nothing out of the ordinary for a disc drive.

The disc drive addition for my PS5 is pretty awesome. I originally purchased the disc free digital PS5, but my mom and my sister each got me games I asked for for my birthday in April, and they were physical copies. So I had to get the disc drive add on. I was planning on getting it anyways since I love to watch dvd's. It was actually very easy to install. I installed it myself. The only negative comment I have about the PS5 disc drive is that it can't play music cd's, and I love to listen to music and have a lot of cd's. Other than that it's great to have. It's very handy to have, and it's very quiet as far as noise level goes. The only time it really makes noise is if you're ejecting or inserting a disc. When playing however, it's extremely quiet. Had to take a star away for not being able to play music cd's. Other than that, it's perfect.

Popped on my PS5 Pro and has worked like a charm for the last few months. Not sure I can 'review' this more extensively other than validating my PS5 Pro reads discs now and was easy to install. That said the most 'difficult' part of installing was figuring out how to remove the side panel of the console which only took a minute or so.

I was worried I would need some sort of knowledge or know how to install this on my ps5 pro, but to my surprise it was an easy 3 step process. First I pop off the white shell covering where the drive was to go then put the one end in first then press down the other snapped in, then power on and put in disc! No worries or plugs just line the disc drive up and press in easy peezy! Was worth the upgrade I still believe owning a disc is better than owning a digital copy, best part was it was the same price as Walmart or GameStop yet I didn’t have to take the drive!

It's a bummer that this wasn't included with the PS5 Pro. But for what it's worth and especially for is "disc users" this disc drive is pretty solid.It plays both PS4 & PS5 disc's games easily and I appreciate the fact that if you insert the disc incorrectly (as I did the first couple of times), it doesn't get loud and violent and break or so. You'll get an error on screen to say the the disc is unreadable by which you just need to eject rhe disc and flip it over and it's all good to go.The installation was pretty simple as well. Except that gut renching feeling you get when you have to remove the PS5's lower side panel and sounds like you're about to break it. Otherwise it's all good.
