Perfect Plant-Based Gummy Base
After experimenting with store-bought gummies full of gelatin and artificial ingredients, I tried making my own healthy version using this agar agar powder. The results were surprisingly good – with a few learning curves along the way. What Worked Well:- Created firm, bite-resistant gummy worms that held shape perfectly- Neutral taste didn't compete with my fruit juice flavors- Set up faster than gelatin (about 15-20 minutes at room temp)- Vegan/kosher/halal friendly unlike animal-based gelatinThe Learning Process:First batch mistakes:• Used too much powder = rubbery texture• Didn't stir enough = slight graininess• Poured too hot = fruit juice nutrients degradedTexture Notes:- More "al dente" than gelatin gummies- Less melt-in-your-mouth, more substantial chew- Holds up better in lunchboxesTips:1. Add 1/4 tsp citric acid for sour gummies2. Use silicone molds for easiest release3. Dust with arrowroot powder to prevent sticking4. Works great with fresh juice or herbal teas5.Perfect batch formula:- 1 tsp powder per cup liquid- Constant whisking while cooling- Added flavors at 140°F (60°C)Unexpected Benefits:- The kids didn't notice the switch from store gummies- Cleanup was easier than sticky gelatin- Shelf-stable at room temperatureWhile it requires some technique adjustments, this agar agar makes exceptional healthy gummies. The texture takes getting used to, but the nutritional benefits outweigh the learning curve. Worth buying in bulk if you're serious about clean snacks.

My family loves this! Better than gelatin! Makes yummy fruit desserts and more... 🤗
This is awesome agar agar it dissolves beautifully I use it with hibiscus teas and sweetening and it makes the most delicious vegan gelatin better than the old store jellos making it pleasurable to be vegan. I have made mouse and gummies with it too and I use it in my homemade shampoo to give it substance. Just remember to add it when your liquid is cold.😋

Great substitute for gelatin in vegan recipes
I had to come up with some vegan options for food for my daughter’s wedding. I found a cheese recipe that called for gelatin and found out that there isn’t a vegan option for gelatin. The gal at the vegan store told me there was recent testing on vegan gelatin and they weren’t actually vegan. She recommended a agar agar and this was amazing in the cheese recipe. I got a lot of compliments in the mac and cheese dish that I used the vegan cheese I made in.

Formed gummies!
The product was pretty good. The agar was able to form my gummies. The texture was kinda wierd but other than that an amazing product and a really good price for the quality!

Use this in my restaurant kitchen to make solidified emulsions. Customers love being able to eat their beverages with a fork!

Sets fast and it's just like gelatin if not better. Just a tad more expensive.
Used this agar agar powder for both mushroom culture plates and a vegan dessert. In both cases, it solidified very fast and held structure well — no sagging or weeping. For culture plates, I used 8g per 500ml water with 20g dry malt extract. Boiled until fully dissolved, then pressure-cooked at 15 PSI for 25 minutes. If you’re doing food: dissolve in cold water first before heating. Once it boils, stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until fully clear, then pour. Sets in under 10 minutes. This powder is strong, start with less if you’re unsure.Keep it dry — it will clump if the bag’s not sealed.
