Wild Animals Coloring Book (Dover Animal Coloring Books)

I love this book as an animal lover, great drawings and very educational.

I bought this for my daughter who LOVES animals. She’s only about two, so technically a bit young for this style, but she still loves it and has fun coloring the animals. She’s learned new ones, and we can read her the facts about the animals as she gets older. It’s high quality too, as tested by an almost two year old who is still learning to be gentle with books.

Wonderful pictures! The drawings are detailed but not overly so, the lines are clean and not too heavy/dark. My kids loved that they were not cartoons/babyish, that the names of each animal were on each page and some details about the animals. There is a good spread of animals from around the world, predators and herbivores/prey.

Very informative captions accompany the pictures, it would be helpful if there were color thumbnails for all of the pictures instead of only a few, although the captions did describe the color of the animals. Again I should have read the description of the book closer so I knew it was printed on both sides of the paper and did not have perforated pages.I would not have ordered it I don't think.

I never would've guessed my friend and neighbor, who drives a bulldozer for a living, would be the type to sit down with a coloring book but his colorings are beautiful and not juvenile at all. And he says, which also never occurred to me, that coloring is very relaxing. I never saw it that way as a kid but looking back, I guess coloring was actually relaxing. I'm very impressed with his, what I'm gonna call, artwork. He's somewhat picky about what he wants to color. The more detail in a pic to color, the better. And he's been very satisfied with the books I picked out for his birthday. He loves that the art of each of the pics to color is so detailed. He has bragged about my choices and so has anyone else who he's bragged to that I picked them out. I've never seen such beauty in a coloring book myself. I bought four of them and they all deserve the same praise so I guess I'll just copy and paste this review on each of the products.

My 6 year old, who is very into all kinds of animals loves this coloring book. I think I’ve purchased 3 or 4 times I need to just start making copies when I get it. All the Dover coloring books are great in my opinion. We love that they include short but informative paragraphs about the scenes. Very educational and great detail while still being age appropriate.

Great pictures to color in. Lots of information about the animals and a great price. I plan to send it a few pages at a time to a young friend along with letters. So I am taking it apart. For someone who likes animals I really like the pictures and the information. A great buy !!!

Recently I thought about getting back into coloring, simply because it is so calming and relaxing to do. I looked all over town for some really nice coloring books but none were to be found. Well I found this one (and two others like it from the same company) and they are fantastic! Not your ordinary simple lines to color in... but actual highly detailed with shading pictures to color. With a wide variety of animals to choose from to color and descriptions about them too... this is definately not your average coloring book... more of a one of a kind "how all coloring books should be" coloring book. For the price and quality you will get... you will not be dissapointed!!!
