Great idea and product!
I use a corded soldering gun as a hot rope cutter (thousands of cuts each day). This is a great idea for a cordless soldering gun, and worked with my Ryobi batteries perfectly. The problem is that at a max heat of 400C, the tip does cut the rope - but at half the speed of my 220 watt corded gun.If the manufacturer made a version that would allow for more heat (allowing the tip to actually get orange hot like one of their photos depicts), I would definitely buy that version, because everything else works great. It just doesn't get hot enough for my application.(I removed the metal tip and cut rope with the bare ceramic heating element - which DOES get orange hot - and it worked great and very fast like that for an entire day and thousands of cuts. But the next day the temp selector only went up to 100C. It would no longer heat up to 400C. So I tried to jerry-rig it by bypassing the temp sensor and ended up ruining it. 😖)

It’s a good tool for an industrial scale
Works great with large things but not comfortable for tiny items

Convenient but solder feed not perfect
Solder misses tip causing adjustments on the fly. But several advantages. Heats up fast and gets hot. Portable. No cords. However bulky and large tool with battery pack not going into tight spots vs a slender pencil soldering iron

Great cordless soldering gun that's easy to use and works with your power tool batteries
I work in a lot of remote places where electrical power is not always available. This cordless soldering iron allows me to quickly and efficiently solder my connections in the field with or without power. I already had Ryobi gear so the required batteries for this tool were already in my toolkit. I was able to get the solder spool setup and loaded very quickly and easily and the tool has a removal door for examination and loading if needed but I found the solder loaded easily and came out the tip without any hassle. The Tip extruder is adjustable, and you get five additional tips plus the one that’s loaded into the tool to choose from for whatever project you’re working on. The tips tinned up easily before first use and the tool heats up quickly with a charged battery and ramps to the set temperature fairly fast. You can set the desired temperature by using the keypad up and down arrows on the base above the battery. The tool is lightweight but feels solid and the only weight really comes from the zine battery you are using. I like the fact the battery weight keeps the center of gravity low so the tool stands up easily while in use or during cooldown.
