Excellent Metal Starter Guitar
I’m impressed with this Ktaxon/Glarry Ibanez RG copy guitar. Love the matte black finish. Everything works on the guitar. I was amazed to find the guitar playable right out of the well-packaged box. The action (string height) and intonation (identical chords are in the same exact tuning across the fretboard) were spot on. I have many, many import guitars and finding one playable without the action too high or the neck badly bowed is a shocker. The neck is perfect on this guitar. I found a few slightly high frets which I lowered with no difficulty. These high frets were barely too high and did not cause buzzing or dead notes. I recently taught myself how to level high frets so I wanted to correct them for practice to get better at it.I upgraded/modified the guitar, but honestly I did not have to change anything. I already purchased parts and new pickups right after I purchased the guitar expecting the guitar to be unplayable out of the box with crappy pickups with bad machine heads. Nope- stock pickups sound good and the stock black machine heads keep the strings in tune well. The electronics are the typical cheap, small pots with plastic coated wire. I installed a Kaish heavy-duty 5 way switch, Switchcraft jack, 2 large S Korean not Chinese pots, large orange drop capacitor, and used vintage cloth covered wire. Like I stated earlier- I did not have to upgrade anything on the guitar since everything on it works well. I was shocked to find the ceramic pickups sound really good- usually inexpensive import guitars have cheap, microphonic pickups. I installed alnico 2/5 hex/rail humbuckers with an alnico 5 Wilkinson single coil pickup. Installed black brass saddles, a solid brass block, and a bone nut I took off another guitar. I polished the frets too.So all in all love this guitar. I was going to give it to my nephew but I’ll get him an another one. Will add to my massive collection. Anyone by the way can learn to work on guitars- many helpful videos and information can be found online. I’ve taught myself how to do all these upgrades just by watching videos and a bunch of trial and error. I’m not mechanically inclined so if I can figure out how to do this anyone can.So great, very light awesome looking guitar that won’t break the bank. Very comfortable maple neck. I can’t tell what wood the fretboard is made of- possibly rosewood but I’m not sure- all I did was oil the fretboard since it was a bit dry. This is a great guitar for someone starting out. Versatile sounding pickups too. Comes with a strap, cable, and a wind breaker jacket thin gig bag with no padding. Very happy with my purchase.

Bottom e string is wrongly intonated by 2 notes, but otherwise solid guitar and big dog energy sound
It got here ahead of schedule, everything was intact and well packed. The bottom E string was like 3 notes sharp when I tuned it but the other 5 were all like 1-2 flat which I think is why the E string is messed up, possibly because someone tuned it so all the tuner keys would be facing the same way which they were. I understand that there's probably people who think the guitar is broken if it doesn't show up that way so I get it, but I think it ended up hurting the guitar. I googled to figure it out and I'm still working on fixing the E string which isn't too hard since the tremolo bridge is super simple to adjust, though I haven't quite gotten it right yet. My only other big issue was that after that I tried adding the tremolo bar and it seemed a bit tight when I spun it on and didn't really work. I will say that might be because it's the first time I've added one so I don't hold it against them unless I can't find a tutorial that makes it work. When I then plugged it in, it really took off sound-wise. I was really impressed when I dropped to the bottom humbucker, and with a little bit of distortion and gain on my old amp it was surprisingly chunky and bright. The cable they gave is great, though it does really stick into the guitar so be careful pulling it out cause it surprised me the first time. The knobs were good for what they are and I'm pleased with the overall quality in this regard. I was really impressed for the money and I was definitely pleased with my purchase for that.Appearance wise, it's really cool looking and the color (black) is nice too. This is my first personal purchase of an electric guitar (though I've had some family ones), and I'm so happy when I look at it. I'm not exactly Eddie Van Halen or a Djentspert but it looks so awesome and I love the fret markers. I do kind of wish it had a pickguard but I also enjoy the color and appearance so that's not a big deal and if it helped with the price I'm okay with it. If I ever wanted to change the color or get another similar one, I think I would get one with a matte black paint rather than shiny. It is pretty, but I feel like the matte fits it a lot better. Personal opinion on that but otherwise it's phenomenal. To wrap it up, the included picks and hardware were nice for what they were and are appreciated. The strap was a little small but that might be a me thing as well. Overall a great guitar for the amateur rock/metal guitarist who wants to just get an electric and start working on electric technique, this is a great deal and I highly recommend for beginners, though only if the E string being messed up was a fluke for me. Even if it isn't, a quick trip to a guitar store is probably easy enough so just be prepared to do that if you do get it, or want to give an instrument that comes with some simple, long-term guitar maintenance challenges to a new-to-electric player. I hope it comes back in stock or some updated ones, or even cooler, if the manufacturer made a cheapish 7 string edition. All said and done, 1 and 1/2 thumbs up, enjoy the guitar but make sure you get it checked out.

Good sound, nice look!
It is a good guitar for people who just play for fun. It sounds good, holds tune, and has a good feel when playing. Strings are not too low or high, making playing easier for those looking for a good guitar without a heavy price tag.

Arrived in tact earlier than expected
Guitar arrived intact and fully functional. I re-ordered this one from same seller as previous one arrived with a defective selector switch. I purchased same model, same seller earlier but had to return as guitar had a defective switch. This model has great tone and features.. finish is super.. and very light weight. With it's 5-position PU selector switching capability provides a very versatile guitar. Good sustain. Seller is praiseworthy also as return was processed quickly.. no hassle. This "low end" guitar is a good value with unexpected quality. I found it to be a good blues guitar for it's sustain. One thing I could not live with.. the middle pickup.. so I replaced it with higher resistance single coil PU rated at 7.5 ohms.... a $10 PU, (here on Amazon.. black, single coil type) and wow, it really gives a richer tone in the 2nd and 4th switch positions: each blends the middle with either neck or bridge PU accordingly. The other PU's sound great in neck, both, or bridge positions anyway but the stock middle PU was a little too weak for my blues playing. Now each of the 5 switch positions produce it's own unique tone in their selected position. The replacement PU doesn't alter the middle (combined) sound.. just the single coil addendum in 2nd and 4th switch positions. The replacement PU adds a better "flavor" than the stock PU to country or blues.
