This slim slip-on delivers modern Kenneth Cole style with a moccasin-inspired square toe. Ingenuity goes a long way toward compensating for lack of capital, an axiom Kenneth Cole proved back in the early 1980s when he launched his fledgling shoe store out of a borrowed truck parked along a fashionable Midtown Manhattan street. Gaining a parking permit required a clever ruse. Cole added the word "Productions" to his company name, reinvented himself as a film director, hired models as "actors," and got a license to shoot a film appropriately titled The Birth of a Shoe Store. Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. (the tongue-in-cheek name remains to this day) may not have produced much actual film that day, but it did sell an impressive number of shoes. Today, Kenneth Cole Reaction blends fabulous fashion with functionality, creating urban-inspired footwear for work or play.

Great fit and surprisingly comfortable
I really like these shoes! they're really nice to wear in the office and to outings. I had a pair of shoes before and they were nice but they were awful inside on how they feel. After wearing these for the first time I wondered why I hadn't purchased them sooner.Pros:- they look nice- fit well when you have the right size- have good traction after the image/plastic thing on the sole wears out (usually happens when you walk outside the 1st day)Cons:- the bend is very visible on the leather- the stitching around the shoe is colored black, originally white and wears off easily (when they do, I just colored it with a black sharpie, works very well) I was very disappointed by Kenneth Cole for being cheap on this, its black string, really?I would definitely recommend this shoe to my friends.

They are very good everyday shoes that you can wear with jeans and ...
I usually go through 2 pairs of these shoes every year. I only get the brown ones. They are very good everyday shoes that you can wear with jeans and khakis. As the other reviewers stated, the quality is not that great. Kenneth Cole used the cheapest materials, but you get what you pay for. The sole is made of very soft and cheap material and the heels will disappear very quickly and the wood will start to show. You can get the heels repaired for $25 if you don't want to spend the money to buy another pair. The topside is sturdy. If you don't use shoe polish and only use a shining sponge, you will get a distressed look after a few months and it looks really good with jeans. I usually get the shoes water-proofed when I first get them. I'm usually a size 10, but I always found the shoes to become a little loose after a month or so. I just got a 9.5M last week. It was a bit tight at first but I'm already seeing improvements after wearing them 4-5 times. I think it'd be perfect after a couple of weeks. The size 10 usually becomes a little too loose.I really want to try the black ones, but it seems that no one is happy about the stitching. At least they used brown materials for the stitching and it doesn't become white. I had that happen on another pair of Kenneth Cole shoes. I don't expect too much from cheap shoes.

My third pair
I loved the first two pairs (one black, one brown) so much that this is my third. Great fit. Leather doesn't wrinkle/crease after prolonged use. Very comfortable. Sylish yet conservative enough to wear anywhere. I get lots of compliments on them. All at a great price.UPDATE: I forget how many of these I've owned now but it has been well over 10 pairs. The quality has gone down a little since the first pair I owned but so has the price. They are still the best pair of dress/casual shoes I've ever owned. Another positive note is that the shoes are quiet. They don't "clack" while I walk down hallways with hard floors.

These shoes are a good value
I actually have this shoe in black and brown because I love them so much. I wear them to work, out at night, and casually. I love that I can just slip them on and walk out the door. They look nice on with clean and crisp lines. A lot of pointed shoes seem to 'miss the mark' or look awkward to me, but these are the best of the 'pointier' dress shoes I have owned.I am not sure why the only helpful reviews here are the few who have said they don't like them or they don't last. I've had both of my pairs for over a year now and they are still in great shape. Yes, the threads are white and dyed black but this can be managed and is the only complaint I have. After over a year of heavy use, I think I will finally need to the black pair in to repair the sole and heel. The brown pair I wear a lot but nearly as often as the black pair but I love how the brown pair ages so naturally and looks distressed so well after a few wears. They don't seem like cheap leather to me but not the finest leather either. Regardless, they are on your feet so you are not inspecting them up close all the time. And don't ignore the price point here either.Basically, I would very much recommend these shoes, both the black and the brown!

Nice shoes, but...
I've bought a few Kenneth Cole items in the past, including theKenneth Cole REACTION Men's Waldorf 1-1/2" Reversible Leather Belt and have been more or less pleased with them. However, I do have some issues with these shoes. The Good:1. The shoes are nice looking and appear as they do online, so there were no surprises in terms of colour or apparent texture of the leather.2. The shoes are also quite comfortable and true to size. The Bad:1. The sole of these shoes is quite soft. So, walking around in the office and on paved or even surfaces is fine, but you can feel the uneveness fairly markedly when you are going over any gravel or rock.2. The stitching. This is perhaps the most disappointing aspect of these shoes. The top and front upper edge includes a single row of stictching that runs from the front almost right to the back of the shoe. The problem is that it seems that WHITE thread was used to do the stitching and then dyed/painted. The problem, then, is that as soon as the shoes get even the slightest scuff on this prominent stitching, the white becomes exposed and looks absolutely awful. It has become so frustrating that I have to polish these shoes every night (something I would usually do twice a week) just to ensure that they remain "black".If you are willing to overlook these issues, then these shoes do have some appeal but I will definitely do some more thorough examination before purchasing products from KC in future.
