This grinds dog food.
This item was purchased for grinding up dog food for our senior dog she uses a conventional kibble and it's fortified with a freeze dried kibble that she gets prescribed to her for her liver function and I had been doing this in a food processor and it was really loud and time consuming and it takes no time at all to grind the dog food with this into something that consistency of cornmeal. There is a grid in the funnel that I was able to remove simply by pulling with appliers this allowed it to feed the kibble into the auger.

Would not grind fine enough. Got very hot. Had to run wheat berries twice and still not equivalent to better quality mills.

Not good for making flour.
I had high hopes for this mill attachment. Sadly, my hopes were dashed. On the finest setting the mill produced cracked wheat, not flour. With 4 passes we got a gritty wheat flour that was so heavy it stayed at the bottom of a bottle when i tried to make barm. It was not suitable for baking bread.

Essential for home-ground grains
This attachment for the mixer I already possess is perfect. Once any grain is ground into flour, it will become rancid in about two days flat, which is why store-bought flours are tainted with so many chemicals to preserve them. I have hand-turned grain-mills, for making breads during prolonged power outages, but it is a bit tiring, and it takes a lot longer. With this attachment, determine how much flour you need, grind grain for that amount, and bake it same day. Grains keep their nutrition and freshness months (or years) longer than any flour, plus whatever you bake with the home-ground grains will offer every bit of natural nutrition, unlike store-flours that sift and discard so much of the grain.

Does not grind to a grade I would associate with flour or baking. L
I ground wheat today. Attachment did a good job of cracking the grain on the coarse setting. I took four steps to get to the finest setting and then double ground the wheat on the finest setting. I have wheat bread dough rising but the dough seems coarse and dense and the flour is not soft and fine. My final product is still grit. The catch cup is nice. I used multiple bowls. A bowl for the finished product. A bowl for the current grind and a bowl for what was being ground. The finished product was consistent when though it was not to a powder grade I was hoping for. I won’t attempt oats or rice. Originally I was going to go with three stars, but my review didn’t seem to propagate.

I wish I had bought this ages ago!
This product is easy to use and to clean. I use it for making lentil flour and for grinding my coffee. It's super helpful to have a multiuse piece.

Good product with limited capacity
Good product if you are looking to start grinding wheat and are looking for a less expensive alternative. It doesn’t grind as fine as I had hoped and I had to run it through a few times. The capacity is only about a cup at a time so time consuming if you’re making a large batch.

Not so great
So I bought this to bring rice to make rice flour. 1 cup of rice took 45 minutes because I had to keep running it through multiple times because this is not made well. I set it to fine and ran it and it automatically changed to bigger on its own. You have to grind it 8 times to get it the smallest. And the smallest is not fine enough to be considered flour. It’s like the size of couscous that’s as small as I could get it. Then I had to take a break and let the machine cool down because it got too hot. I don’t recommend this. It’s not as described.
