Great spice mix
I buy spices regularly from E at H and this was the first time trying the kebab one. Another success as far as I’m concerned!

Tasty kebab set
You get enough for 3 mes in this. Each pack comes with a guide recipe and a bag of seasoning. I have followed the recipe and also used it myself in cooking and in both instances, this set had provided a simple yet delicious kebab style flavour.Easy to use and makes for a tasty homemade me, would recommend.

Good intensity, without being incredibly hot
A strong balance of spices, perfectly proportioned for the quantity of meat, gives a powerful spicy result - without excessive heat.My method of prep was especially lazy - I didn't leave it to marinade, I couldn't be bothered to fish out skewers, used dried coriander leaf instead of fresh, etc. The lamb I was using was leaner than the instructions called for (10% fat vs 20%).Despite this it turned out fine: Dumped the mix into a bowl with chopped onion, the recommended 500g of lamb, and a palm full of dried coriander leaf - mixed it up evenly for a few minutes. Then I just portioned it out into a combination of meat-balls, patties, and some roughly rolled sausage shapes and put it in an oiled oven dish - flipping them once to make sure they were coated in the oil before whacking them in the preheated oven.Main gripe would be the recipe says "full heat" for temperature, which didn't mean anything to me. I went for 200c fan-assisted which is far below what it can kick out.Not using skewers, and not being particularly careful about shaping the meat, meant they needed a couple of minutes longer than the recipe called for - and some of the smaller portions were consequently a tiny bit dryer than the fatter ones, but not unpleasantly or notably so.A bit more care in portion size and shaping on my side would fix this, as would following the recommendations to turn them frequently and oil them down if they start to get dry - ditto for using skewers, or refridgerating them overnight while they marinade. But they cook so fast that really, it's not much of an issue just to keep an eye on them. They turned out great - salad with a choice of mayo, salad cream, or a creamy salad dressing really compliments the tangy coriander kick. The mild heat can be augmented to taste with something like Sriracha, or a hot sauce, or a sweet chilli sauce, or anything of the like for people who want more of a kick; or a mint sauce to set off the heat.Value for money-wise it's hard to say. The results are nice enough - and the prep isn't as onerous as with some competing spice-kits that are meant for more intricate recipes. But in terms of raw ingredients, it's far cheaper to get your own spices and mix them up according to any online recipe - and this is probably the least time-consuming part of the process. It's a nice product for people who need just a few discrete portions of spice mixes to do home made kebabs on a couple of occasions, but I'm not sure that's really where the convenience lies or if it justifies the cost.

A really authentic taste
I am really impressed with this spice mix. It comes perfectly portioned enabling you to make 10 kebabs. It is so simple to use. You simply need to add mince and fresh coriander, mix and then grill. The spices have a really lovely depth of flavour and give that true seekh kebab taste you look for. This is a lovely cost effective way of having an authentic kebab without having to make the effort of heading to your takeaway.I highly recommend it.

Easy to use, just-right taste, but expensive
In the past most of the kebabs I’ve had have been eaten under the influence of alcohol, but to the best of my addled memory, this is an authentic and familiar kebab taste- or much better in fact. When mixed with a good quality meat that’s not too greasy, it gives a delicious, rich-yet-mild, different-enough flavour that everyone in my family enjoyed. It is hard to pin down one particular spice as being the key flavour of the mix, which is a good thing in a way.The recipe on the back of the pack (also visible in the product photos) is simple and easy to follow, and you can’t really go wrong. It’s also a recipe you can do with your kids, it’s that simple. The only problem is the price. At time of writing, three spice packs cost a tenner, or an individual pack costs four quid. Each pack is one family meal’s worth of kebabs, and that works out really quite expensive compared to some other good spice and marinade brands I also like, such as BBQ Moments. Schwarz may be a bit of a dull brand, but per-meal, their spices work out far cheaper than this- and while it tastes good, unfortunately I don’t think the high price tag is justified. It’s delicious while it lasts though.
