This has all the bells and whistles one could want -- TIF card, bluetooth, weather alert, lights, etc. -- but is more than just a standby radio, because it sounds so good. It's not hi-fi, but it's not tinny either, and is far better than I would expect from any radio this size. I tend to be wrapped up in pop music during the day, but for relaxing at night, this is very well-balanced sound for classical. A real bargain. -- And, the weather radio is far more sensitive and clear than my midland 120. I can actually hear the announcements without having to jam my ear to the speaker.

This is great radio, it sounds great, and it functions nicely, I was able to pick the Alex Jones Show on the Short Wave band.The AM/FM/Weather signals are strong, the Micro SD card works great. The Flashlights work well enough, they are bright enough to walk or hike with, and you can listen to music while the flashlight is on.Over all a very nice piece of kit, the one thing that would be nice is to have a earplug out so you could use earbuds.And it would be nice to be able to replace the built in battery without having to open it up and do surgery. Other than those two little items, this thing rocks for a personal radio in the shop, or the work area. It's loud enough to use in the backyard, even had the neighbors complain. Which is silly since it has no thumping bass, more treble than bass. Maybe they didn't like the Pod Cast. Or the fact you can't tell it to turn off like Alexa.As for longevity it should last for a while as long as you don't abuse it, the plastic feels like ABS, it seems firm no soft spots anywhere. One note that ABS can become very brittle the colder it gets. I got the Gold, it is not Gold it is Tan. Looks good Tan with black trim.

Recent purchase so I can't judge the durability and longevity of the product but WOW what a versatile radio for the price! I don't usually write reviews but have to put a good word in for this product. Sound quality is solid considering all the different functions of this radio. I have used the FM band regularly and it picks up stations very well. I'm still getting used to the tuning knob. You kind of have to hold one hand on the handle and one hand on the tuning knob, otherwise the radio is a bit finicky and at risk of falling over. I wish the bottom was a bit sturdier and allowed more balance. The radio has fallen on me a few times due to this reason but thank goodness it has not broken. suffice it to say I think this radio will last me a good while if I am responsible and don't drop it on hard surfaces. I haven't used AM or Shortwave much as I have a digital radio that I use for those bands, but I needed a weatherband radio so I picked up the KA340. The Bluetooth and SD card is a game changer. Flashlight and lantern are bright and will be great to use extensively for camping and to keep it close in case of weather emergencies.

This little radio far surpassed my expectations! I bought it mainly to have the NOAA weather alert feature when we are camping. It got here yesterday, (one day early), and I immediately tested it in both the camper and the house. We live in a very rural area, and have an older plug-in weather alert radio for use in the house. This little Kaito works much better indoors than that one. The reception and sound quality on the Kaito are both superior to our plug-in model.When I went to test it in the camper, I half expected that this radio would have trouble picking up stations, since the camping trailer has metal walls and roof. I was pleasantly surprised when it picked up AM, FM, and NOAA Weather Stations inside the camper with no trouble. I especially like that it can be set to "Alert" mode, and the radio will be silent unless an Emergency Alert is broadcast. When an alert is issued, the radio engages and broadcasts the alert information. We had some severe weather earlier today, and the alert function worked just as it should.The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small unit. The flashlight and lantern are also very nice features. While it's not the brightest flashlight ever invented, it gives off plenty of light to find your way around in the dark. The lantern also does a respectable job of lighting up the camper.I am very pleased with this purchase!!

This radio is perfect for those emergencies that come up such as loss of power, traveling, camping, etc. It's compact yet full of the latest features such as mp3 player and bluetooth. It can be powered through 5 different power sources. Only problem is a lack of information in the user guide. But, its easy to learn. I had to deal with a power loss & this radio stood up to the test. So I'm really impressed with the product. I highly recommend this product for your household.

Great seller. Issue with charging port. Customer service shipped me a new one. Syncs with bluetooth and get good radio reception. Not Boes quality but hey.
