I just adore Elvis but why this film was expensive I have no idea especially as it is so old. Usually old films are very cheap but I suppose because it is Elvis you have to pay a premium price? I particularly liked Elvis in his early years but not his latter years!!

This is an excellent film. Elvis shows a vast improvement in acting ability from his first film. There is an excellent supporting cast, Wendell Corey is particularly good. The sets look good, the costumes are good and the songs are first rate.Elvis plays a young man picked out to tour with a band around small town America and then hits the big time, a bit like his own story. He is being manipulated by his manager (well played by Lizbeth Scott), falls in love with the girl, get the girl and reforms his manager (just like real life!). And, you get to hear Elvis's bassist, Bill Black, speak! A silly story but just the thing to soothe the furrowed brow.The DVD doesn't really have anything more to offer than VHS just scene selection and song selection but saying that the picture quality is excellent.If you're an Elvis fan you'll know this film, if not buy it today.

My favourite Elvis Presley film with a storyline similar to his early life and career. The DVD contains a song index allowing the viewer to jump straight to particular musical numbers.
