I was pleased that this kept my food cold for two days with just a few ice packs, in 50-70 degree temps. I have a bit of buyers remorse with this though. It definitely is designed to carry beer into less traveled areas. Which would have been great for me 5 years ago. I gave up drinking and now I want to use this for kayak camping and picnics with my young son. It's hard to get food in and out of it and it doesn't hold very large containers. What it does hold, it keeps cold. I just wish I had seen one in person before buying it. I probably wouldn't have shelled out as much money for it knowing what I know now.

Took this thing out on a float trip for two days at the end of summer in Oklahoma, loaded up with ice, and a bunch of seltzers. When I got home, the drinks were still cold. The ice had melted, but the cold water kept everything the perfect temperature. The closure is a little stiff, but it's still leaps and bounds better than the old zippers. It's pretty idiot-proof too, which is great when you're supplying drinks to drunk people on a river. A drunk person may only close one side before giving up, but they won't break a zipper and render the whole cooler useless. I added a bunch of aftermarket stuff to mine, like the dry bag and two water bottle holders large enough to carry a 34oz. bottle on one side and a gopro on the selfie stick to the other.
